She initially met Ben Affleck at the beginning of the 2000s, and their brief but widely reported romance rapidly earned them the moniker “Bennifer” in tabloid circles. Even though Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s whirlwind relationship has received constant attention over the years, new developments have cast doubt on the durability of their once-seemingly impenetrable love. There are several comments that claim there is a massive rift between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck due to the rumors about Jennifer Garner.

Everything started when pictures of Ben Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner appeared in the media. Even worse, this occurred only a few days after Affleck was photographed with Jennifer Garner.

The incendiary images in question showed Affleck and Garner sharing a private moment inside one of the cars, which started the whole debate. These images fueled rumors and rekindled memories of their previous romance right away. For those who may not be aware, Affleck and Lopez called off their engagement nine months before Jennifer Garner and Affleck made their romance public in October 2004. The chronology proceeded quickly, and by April 2005, 13 Going to 30 actress and Affleck were engaged. In December, she gave birth to their first child, Violet, just eight months later.

Understanding Jennifer Lopez’s Emotional Reaction

According to Closer Magazine, Jennifer Lopez was utterly blindsided by these photos. A source disclosed that Jennifer Lopez was “livid” upon seeing these images. Her anger was not rooted in distrust towards Ben Affleck but rather in the unexpectedness of the situation. She believed her husband when he insisted that his interactions with Jennifer Garner were completely innocent.

Jennifer Lopez was actually annoyed by Ben Affleck’s apparent lack of remorse as opposed to the images themselves. He allegedly continued saying that Jennifer Garner was like a sister to him at this time. According to Closer Magazine, Ben Affleck stated,

“Jennifer is like a sister and if J-Lo’s going to get jealous and throw tantrums over a harmless cuddle, then the problem’s on her”

From his point of view, if Jennifer Lopez was going to become envious and act out over a simple embrace, then she was to blame.

On the other hand, Ben Affleck’s perspective is also worth considering. He sees Garner as family, someone who has been a significant part of his life for a long time.
