A new era is beginning for Beyoncé, who just casually released two new songs during the Super Bowl half time break – sharing a nearly naked cover to go with them.

In a Verizon (an American phone network) advert which aired during half time, the 42-year-old singer joked with the comedian Tony Hale that she was planning to do something that would “break the internet”. After they ran through a variety of different options (running for president? Why not), Bey said, “Drop the new music.”

Beyoncé’s website was then updated with an announcement of a new album, Act II, which will be released on the 29th March 2024, before she shared the news that two songs were already available to listen to on Tidal (husband Jay-Z’s streaming service.)

Announcing them on Instagram, Bey shared a photo wearing a cowboy hat and a cropped jacket, with a strategically placed silver heart over her crotch. She forfeited trousers and a top for the occasion, instead choosing a reflective breastplate.

“TEXAS HOLD ‘EM and 16 CARRIAGES out now,” she wrote in the caption.

Fans unsurprisingly went wild for the new music and photo. “HELLO???” Rachel Zegler put in the comments, while someone else said, “Let us breathe 😭😭😭😭😭” Others put, ‘Best thing to come out of the Super Bowl 😍😍😍” and “Why y’all acting like Beyoncé didn’t invent body?”

Others added, “Okay YOU CARRYYYYYYYY’d with this look. I’m gagged” and “Oh yeah 😍”

Talk about making an entrance.
