The international soccer star reunited with former rival Thierry Henry for a new campaign with Lay’s

David Beckham has “lots to look forward to” in 2024!

The internationally beloved former soccer star, 48, is celebrating two major milestones this year, as 2024 marks the 25th anniversaries of both his wedding to wife, Victoria Beckham, and Manchester United’s Treble win in the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

“For me, personally, I am also looking forward to celebrating — it will be 25 years since Manchester United won the treble — including the Champions League of course! — and Victoria and I will also celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary,” Beckham tells PEOPLE exclusively. “So lots to look forward to!”

The father-of-three says he’s also looking forward to “a great year and summer of sport,” noting the “Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium, the Men’s Euros in Germany, Copa America and the Paris Olympics.”

“I’m hoping to get to see as much live sport as possible — it’s always really special to cheer on England Football and Team GB,” says Beckham. “I’m also really excited that a new MLS season is about to begin, for my team Inter Miami. As a team we are working hard to build on the success of the 2023 season following last year’s Leagues Cup win.”

As he looks back on the milestones, Beckham says he was thrilled to get to team up with his former rival, Thierry Henry. Beckham and Henry, 46, famously competed against one another as stars in the league before they retired from the sport.

Henry and Beckham’s reunion is in support of a new campaign, No Lay’s, No Game 2024, rewarding fans who are game day ready with Lay’s chips, the official snack partner of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), throughout the tournament.

Beckham and Henry filmed the campaign’s promotional video in front of 75,000 fans at San Siro Stadium during the UEFA Champions League season between AC Milan and PSG.

The ad shows the duo just before kick-off, as Beckham discovers that Henry had eaten all of his Lay’s chips. To solve the problem, the two put out a call through the Lay’s “Chip Cam” – a spin on the traditional kiss cam — to scour the crowd for Lay’s. Two lucky fans, a father and daughter, are found with the chips and are invited to watch the game with the iconic soccer stars.

Beckham says he “loved being back at the San Siro” and was excited “to work with Thierry in this totally new way” for the campaign. “The energy in the stadium was amazing and the fans were so welcoming. We only had about 5 minutes to film the live stunt, so there was a lot of pressure to find the fans in the crowd who had Lay’s with them,” he explains.

“Thierry and I found it so funny, watching all of the different ways fans embraced being on the jumbotron while we were on the hunt for Lay’s – it was great to see them so engaged.”

And despite the two having “a great rivalry on the pitch,” Beckham says, “We’ve remained friends and it’s been fun to see each other take on new projects and support each other.”

It’s hard for Beckham to point to just one memory that stands out during his playing career, but a certain victory “will always be incredibly special,” for him.

“I have so many incredible memories of the Champions League,” Beckham begins, “With Manchester United, 1999 will always be incredibly special given that we won the Treble, something no other club had done before.”

Beckham continues, “I can’t believe it’s 25 years ago this year. I remember that final so clearly, it gives me goosebumps thinking about it now. To win the Champions League with that group of players who I’d grown up with — it doesn’t get much better than that.”
