David Beckham‘s son, Cruz, is the latest addition to The Soccer Tournament, the competition announced on Wednesday.

Last summer, participants in the inaugural 7-on-7 event included former USA internationals DaMarcus Beasley and Jermaine Johnson, and even NBA legend Steve Nash.

And now 19-year-old Cruz is set to suit up for Saturdays Football in the $1million, winner-takes-all tournament which takes place in Cary, NC.

Also on the team will be former MLS Rookie of the Year Sean Franklin, who played with Cruz’s famous father when he was on the Galaxy.

TST has announced several other teams for this year’s tournament, with Mario Balotelli and Nani set to play together on the aptly-named Nani FC.

Cruz – like his other two brothers, Romeo and Brooklyn – previously played in the Arsenal academy, though only Romeo has gone onto a professional career.

He is currently playing for Brentford B after plying his trade for Inter Miami II.

Other confirmed teams include Hashtag United, the Manhattan Kickers and last year’s winners, Newtown Pride SC.

Last year’s tournament included squads representing Borussia Dortmund, Wrexham, West Ham and Wolves, and TST has now expanded to 48 teams.

The tournament provided excitement last summer with its use of a ‘target score’ – which is one goal more than the winning score at the end of regulation.

TST runs this year from June 5-10.

The tournament was launched off the back of ‘The Basketball Tournament,’ which was founded in 2014 and has attracted plenty of ex-pros and college players.
