Fans think Mariah Carey has had “great work” on her face throughout the years.

Three months before Mariah Carey opened up about her bipolar diagnosis in 2018, sources revealed she’d lost over 30 pounds after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery to lose weight. She’s never confirmed it herself and has always denied getting any plastic surgery. But according to a doctor’s recent analysis, the singer might have spent $420,000 on her “subtle new face.”

In 2019, her ex-assistant Lianna Shakhnazaryan accused Carey of concealing cosmetic procedures by charging them on the former’s credit card. Shakhnazaryan even had an invoice and a credit card statement to prove her claim. Here’s a closer at the Christmas Queen’s beauty history.

A Doctor Said Mariah Carey Likely Spent $420,000 On “Subtle” Cosmetic Procedures

In a YouTube video titled, “Mariah Carey New Face,” New York-based plastic surgeon Gary Linkov analyzed what cosmetic procedures Carey might have had throughout the years. The “Plastic Surgery Analysis” starts with how the Grammy winner looked in 1990 when she was 21 years old.

The timeline goes on to show that Carey “maintained cheek volume” over the decades, making her look “youthful” at 54. Aside from getting veneers in 1996, it wasn’t until 2001 that a then-32-year-old Carey had work done on her face.

“It looks like Mariah may have had a rhinoplasty,” said Linkov. “When I look at her super alar crease, specifically on the left side, it looks more indented.”

He continued: “This is what can sometimes happen as the nose is made smaller especially the tip of the nose.” He also noted “signs of an alarplasty (a procedure typically done to reduce the size of the nostrils).” As Linkov said, “the wings of [Carey’s] nose that are called the alar look to be reduced.” The following year, Carey might have “started to get some Botox to the usual location such as the forehead, glabella, and crow’s feet,” said Linkov.

The facial plastic surgeon added that “you can see a reduction in the lines, especially on the forehead and in the area in between the eyebrows.” In 2004, at the age of 35, she “may have started to get some cheek filler… emphasizing that medial portion of her cheeks,” said the expert. “Cheek filler is also placed into the lateral element of the cheeks to recreate a more heart-shaped face.”

Maria Carey decided to undergo gastric sleeve surgery after being body-shamed online.

By the time Carey was 39, it seemed like she had “signs of a brow lift,” per Linkov. “With or without an upper blepharoplasty, you can see the eyebrows now more lifted and there’s an increase of the supratarsal show, which is the platform just above the upper eyelid.” The doctor thinks the Heartbreaker performer started getting lip fillers in 2012 at age 43. Five years later, her “right upper lip appears to be partially overfilled.”

In 2020, 50-year-old Carey was showing “signs of a brow lift revision… and of a facelift.” According to Linkov, her most possible work could be in 2023 when a video of her showed “signs of a potential third brow lift [as] that infrabrow distance has again increased and the supratarsal show has also increased, so this may have been combined with an upper blepharoplasty.” The estimated total cost of these “subtle” procedures is $420,000.

Lianna Shakhnazaryan Leaked An Invoice Of Mariah Carey's Cosmetic Procedures Worth $32,000

In 2019, Daily Mail exclusively published Shakhnazaryan’s proof that Carey used her AMEX card to hide her cosmetic surgery procedures and other luxurious purchases. An invoice obtained by the publication was from the Epione Medical Corporation. It was worth “$32,765, and included a $10,000 in PLLA buttock filler injections, a $4,800 LipoFreeze fat-melting laser treatment to her upper breasts and an $8,900 firming ultrasound procedure to her neck and jawline.”

Carey’s ex-assistant also accused the self-proclaimed diva of having spending issues. “Mariah never wanted people to know about her shopping or surgeries so she would put them on [former assistant] Lianna’s [Shakhnazaryan] card or [former manager] Stella’s [Bulochnikov] cards,” an insider spilled.

“She has an AMEX card of her own but her business management team only let her have one because of her spending – she always spent so much on it, it would get maxed out.”

Here’s a list of Carey’s alleged luxury expenses charged on Shakhnazaryan’s credit card, as seen by Daily Mail:

What Mariah Carey Has Said About Getting Plastic Surgery

In 2003, Carey got into a heated interview with Wendy Williams after the host accused the music icon of getting a boob job. “You know what Wendy, you with the triple d’s need to stop it right now!” the latter said back then. “We’re happy that you had the lipo lunch and the breast implants but leave me be!”

Mariah Carey has recently embraced her “bad side” (left-hand side of her face), decades after being told she should only let people photograph her on her “good side.”

She also denied getting a nose job, telling Williams: “Oh my god no, can we talk about your tummy tuck again?” In 2008, Carey shut down speculations of getting any weight loss surgery. “I know [people are] freaking out that I had some crazy plastic surgery done,” she claimed at that time.

“But… honestly, it’s working out and diet,” Carey continued. “Look at what I’m eating right now – olives! It makes me upset that people think I’ve had surgery, ’cause let’s discuss how annoying the dieting process was.” Nine years later, it was reported that she had gastric sleeve surgery…
