The hottest trend in hip-hop right now seems to be female rappers, but let’s analyze the numbers. How many records is Saweetie selling? Not many. I lean more towards artists like Chika and Rapsody, who are incredibly talented. We need to acknowledge Rapsody’s greatness and give her the recognition she deserves. Instead, we’re bombarded with ex-strippers turned rappers who allegedly don’t write their own rhymes.

Let’s be real; all of the hottest female rappers are former strippers. It’s become a brand, a packaged product, ready for consumption. These women are not only accused of not writing their own music but also of enhancing their bodies to fit a certain mold. It’s a manufactured image, created by men, for women to emulate. This doesn’t empower women; it’s “impipment” – a term I coined for false empowerment.

The artists who are truly talented, like Rapsody, are overshadowed by these manufactured personas. And it’s not just about talent; it’s about who controls the narrative. These ghostwriters are essentially pimps, and the artists are their bottom feeders. They’re all still trying to be like Lil’ Kim, a figure created by Biggie Smalls.

As for the future of female rap artists, I hope for drastic change. Right now, hip-hop and female representation are embarrassing. Take Saweetie, for example; she has millions of followers, but barely anyone is interested in buying her music. It’s not about the music anymore; it’s about trends and clout. Artists like Jennifer Hough and Nicki Minaj face off, and the fans eat it up. But are they real fans, or are they bots? Are they even interested in the music? It’s a sad state of affairs.

YG squashed rumors he and Saweetie called it quits … bringing her out onstage at Rolling Loud California and professing his love to her.

The rapper was performing at the hip hop festival in Inglewood Friday night when he stunned the crowd by sharing the mic with Saweetie after the two reportedly broke up in January.

As you know, YG and Saweetie were first spotted packing on some PDA in May 2023 while vacationing at a resort in Cabo, Mexico — getting photographed sucking face poolside.

Fast forward to January 2024 … The Shade Room reported the pair amicably ended their 7-month relationship.

But, the next day, YG responded by posting an older video of him and Saweetie getting cozy at a Beyonce concert, suggesting they were still an item.
