Zahara Jolie counts on dad Brad Pitt's fame for college?

Born in Ethiopia in 2005, Zahara’s life underwent a dramatic change when Angelina Jolie, on a humanitarian mission, decided to adopt her. Brad Pitt later legally adopted Zahara, integrating her into the high-profile Jolie-Pitt family. However, controversies surrounded the adoption process, raising questions about Zahara’s orphan status and complexities in the adoption procedures.

The scrutiny extended beyond adoption, with the family’s dynamics becoming a subject of constant speculation. Zahara’s adjustment to the spotlight and her evolving relationship with Pitt were scrutinized by the media. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter removes father’s last name as she joins college sorority

While making a name for herself in college, Zahara Jolie-Pitt has officially made her debut as a member of a college sorority, but while formally introducing herself, the 18-year-old’s new identity didn’t include her father’s famous last name, according to media reports.

The big reveal happened on Nov. 16 when the 18-year-old debuted as a new Alpha Kappa Alpha member and introduced herself during the induction ceremony.

In a video shared by Essence, all was quiet as a line of young women, now sorority sisters, stood in formation when Jolie-Pitt removed herself to formally introduce herself.

“My name is Zahara Marley Jolie,” she shouted. “Coming all the way from the Golden State in the city that is full of angels, Los Angeles, California … I am this line’s number seven.”

The 18-year-old donned a black mini dress, black heels, paired with a strand of white pearls.

There to support her daughter during the induction ceremony was Angelina Jolie, as well as her two eldest brothers, 22-year-old Maddox Chivan and 19-year-old Pax Thien. The family celebrated the teen becoming one of the newest members of the sorority during a luncheon, InStyle reported.

“Angie is very proud for Zahara,” a source told Essence of Angelina, who also shares children 17-year-old Shiloh and twins 15-year-old Vivienne and Knox, with Pitt. “She is impressed by her choice to work hard, her interest in service and her wish to join the AKA sisterhood — one of the many impressive HCBU sororities. It meant so much to Angie and Zahara’s siblings to be there to support her, and to congratulate all the other girls.”

Jolie-Pitt is now a member of the Mu Pi chapter of the AKA sorority at Spelman College, a liberal arts school in Atlanta. The sorority is known to be the first historically Black sorority. The teen began attending the school as a college freshman in the summer of 2022, Good Housekeeping reported.

The dropping of Pitt’s last name comes after countless years of speculation that the famous actor has continued his estrangement from his six children since Pitt and Jolie’s huge split in 2016.

The split culminated in Jolie filing for divorce from Pitt after he was being investigated for child abuse that stemmed from an argument with Maddox while on a plane. The former couple have been involved in a brutal legal battle since then, Good Housekeeping reported.
