‘CARDI B AND BIA CAN BOTH SAMPLE MY HIT … It’s All Luv!!!’ – Missy Elliott Wedges Herself Between Cardi B and BIA Fans Before Beef Can Erupt

Missy Elliott is putting a stop to any potential rift between Cardi B and BIA after both rap stars sampled one of her classics … saying they’re both free to use it, without issue.

Cardi put her 2024 comeback into first gear on Friday with the release of her “Like What (Freestyle)” vid … directed by her hubby Offset.

The beat rides Missy’s 1999 hit “She’s a Bitch” … which just so happened to be the same template for BIA’s 2023 single “I’m That Bitch.”

BIA defended her own credibility in a suspicious post on X as Cardi was teasing her track … “BIA THIS… BIA THAT BIA KNOW HOW TO F***** RAP.”

Missy Spreads Luv

The Rock Hall-bound Missy cosigned a comment that commended both artists for using her with a heart hands emoji … basically a cease-fire for weirdo fans looking to start beef.

None of this probably would’ve happened if had they taken the advice from 1500 or Nothin’s Larrance Dopson — remember, the Grammy Award-winner told us last year that low-hanging fruit samples are ruining rap music.

There are actually no losers here — for Missy and Timbaland. Any way you cut it, they get paid royalties!!!

Missy Elliott Responds to Cardi B’s New Song Sampling “She’s a B*tch” With Heart Emojis

Missy Elliott’s 1996 hit song “She’s a Bitch” has been sampled multiple times in hip-hop within the last few years, and Cardi B is the latest person to take inspiration from it.

Cardi B’s new track, “Like What” samples “She’s A Bitch” and Missy doesn’t seem to mind one bit. The rap legend took to X on Friday to respond to fans who showed love to Missy, who either responded with a purple heart or heart hands emoji.

Bia also sampled “She’s a Bitch” in 2023, on the song “I’m That Bitch,” featuring Timbaland—who produced Missy’s song.

Others pointed to Ski Mask the Slump God’s 2017 song “Catch Me Outside,” which also sampled Missy. The Fort Lauderdale native took to X to respond to a clip of the Offset-directed video for Cardi’s track, writing, “Sounds kinda familiar.”

But Ski Mask wasn’t mad about Cardi’s song—even though it does appear that she borrows his flow. “I like the song, why y’all so angry lol,” he wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Cardi seems to have an affinity for using Florida rappers’ flows. Back in 2016, on her song “Foreva,” she adopted Plies’ flow from his 2015 song, “Ran Off On the Plug Twice.” In 2018, for her breakout song, “Bodak Yellow,” she borrowed from Kodak Black’s 2014 song “No Flockin.” Kodak approved of that one as well, hopping on the remix of “Bodak Yellow” after it became a hit.
