DO OR DIE – Khabib Nurmagomedov says Conor McGregor will have to k!ll him to beat him

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV has warned Conor McGregor that he will have to kill him in order to beat him during tonight’s UFC lightweight title fight.

‘The Eagle’, 30, is making the first defence of the belt that he won in April, after it had been stripped from McGregor.

The feud between the two has been extremely personal, with ‘The Notorious’ believing he is getting to the Russian mentally.

Nurmagomedov insists that is not the case and believes that he will need to die in the Octagon for McGregor to have any chance of beating him.

He said: “He has to kill me to stop me, I will finish this guy.

“We will see on Saturday if he can get inside my head.

“I’m a little angry, if I say I’m not then it’s not true, but my job when I go to the cage is to control my emotions and stay relaxed. I’ll do that and maul this guy. Sometimes anger helps, but I will stay relaxed. He can say what he wants, in the Octagon when you talk, nobody cares. When we get in the cage we’ll see.”

Nurmagomedov has also criticised UFC president Dana White for insisting McGregor’s belts be given to the Dubliner for a photo op at the end of a press conference in New York.

McGregor won the straps at featherweight and lightweight but is no longer the reigning champion in either division, having being stripped for inactivity.

He added: “It’s not OK when Dana White says, ‘Where are Conor’s belts?’ Dana already knows where Conor’s belts are. They are with Max Holloway (UFC featherweight champion) and me. Tell Dana that Conor has lost his belts and he has lost his mind.”
