Social Media Remembers King Von On What Would Have Been His 27th Birthday

Fans and close celebrity friends are paying tribute to late rapper King Von as today marks his 27th birthday.

As we previously reported, King Von sadly died last year after a violent confrontation outside an Atlanta nightclub that ended in gunfire. While many people are still having a hard time dealing with his death, many have promised to keep his legacy alive.

Fellow rapper Lil Durk shared a tribute post to his good friend on Instagram. In a series of pictures and videos, Durk wrote, “Happy birthday blooda your name forever live on real hood legend #kingvon 💙.” Asian Doll also wrote, “Happy birthday Von 💕 wish you was here so I can stfu about you smh.” Von’s sister Kayla B also posted an emotional message to her brother. She said, “Happy birthday 2 my ROD my right hand manz😢I miss youuuuu so muchhhh we literally told each other everything 🥺 we fought together, laughed together even argued !!!! Your shows was my shows 🤣 I use 2 be right on the side of you EVERYTIME!!!! &! one thing fasho we didn’t play about each other 💔💔💔 can’t waittt til I meet you in the after lifeeeee”

Von, real name Dayvon Daquan Bennett was born in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood of Chicago in 1994, and later moved to Atlanta to find peace and escape his hometown. Von was known for his drill-style but managed to carve his own stylistic aesthetics into the genre. He’s best known for one of his biggest hits, 2020’s “Took Her to the O,” which made fans more excited to hear more music from the star. Lil Durk honors King Von on the late rapper’s birthday

Family, friends, and collaborators took today to remember King Von — the late rapper would have celebrated his 27th birthday today. One of Von’s closests friends and labelmate, Lil Durk, was among those who showed his love with a shoutout on Instagram.

“Happy birthday blooda your name forever lives on, real hood legend #KingVon,” Durkio captioned under a slideshow of photos. The first photo shows Durk and his crew posted at Von’s mural, which the Source reports was painted in the O’block neighborhood.

REVOLT TV reports the mural was completed after Lil Durk vowed to stop name-dropping inhis songs.

According to REVOLT, Durk announced via twitter that he would no longermention the deceased people either in his music going forward. “I’m not mentioning the dead in my songs no more or performing songs with their name in it… – big smurk” he wrote in one tweet.

Von was a big part of Durkio’s last album, The Voice. The two friends both sharedthe front of the cover art for the album, Von was also featured on the track, “StillTrapping.”

Von’s fans flooded the social media timelines wishing the late rapper a happybirthday.
