Do blondes have more fun? Camila Cabello is about to find out.
The singer and former The Voice Coach (Season 22) just traded in her dark locks for platinum, and fans are speculating that it may signal the start of a new era for the pop star — and maybe the launch of a new project. See her new look, below.
Camila Cabello goes blonde
In a video posted to Instagram, Cabello films her reflection while seemingly on a set of some kind, her now-blonde hair styled into piece-y waves and brand-new bangs. More curiously, she captioned the short montage, “it’s time >:)” and changed her Instagram icon picture to match. The day before, she posted pictures of herself in a recording studio, so fans are pretty convinced that she’s going to release something soon. “its time to drop a new album, yes” wrote one follower. “Blonde bombshell pop star era incoming 🙌” added another.
In the past, Cabello’s hair has been dark, highlighted, honey-brown and even red…but never blonde. In addition to noting that the new hue makes her look like fellow pop star Sabrina Carpenter, fans were excited to see Cabello venturing into new territory. Or rather, hair-itory.
It’s time to use her Voice
Before she was a Coach on The Voice and a successful solo Artist, Cabello got her start as part of the girl group Fifth Harmony, which was assembled on The X Factor. But prior to The X Factor, she auditioned for…The Voice! And there’s an adorably teenage reason she decided to switch competitions. “The truth is – I actually did audition for The Voice,” she revealed to her co-Coaches just before Season 22 premiere, adding that she ended up pursuing The X Factor because, “I wanted to meet One Direction because I was in love with Harry Styles.”
