Tennis has been facing brand new changes, as it has experienced a major fall in one of the biggest names in tennis history. Novak Djokovic, one of the best tennis players in over two decades, is losing a couple of matches in a row, much to the concern of his fans.
After a historic 2023 run, the Serbian entered with a lot of expectations from him. However, he faced a first scare at the United Cup and soon experienced one enormous loss at the Australian Open semifinals. He lost to Jannik Sinner in one heck of a game. Following that, the World No. 1 skipped the Middle Eastern run and directly played the Indian Wells, where he faced his next major upset.
Djokovic lost to a young World No. 123, Luca Nardi, experiencing one of the biggest losses of his career. Following this, he withdrew from the upcoming Miami Open to add to the misery.
Speaking about Novak Djokovic’s current form, former Italian tennis player Paolo Bertolucci made a few comments on the World No. 1. As per the tennis professional himself, Djokovic’s head is not in the game and that he would take some time off and prepare well for the clay season.
I spoke with some Serbian colleagues. Apparently, at the moment, Djokovic's head is not very focused in tennis. He will probably take some days off and then try to reach his best level for the clay season,Said Bertolucci on Sky Sports Italia.
Novak Djokovic falls to some prize money drop after major opportunities in the tournament
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is experiencing a little of a slump. After the tough Australian Open loss, the Serbian had already lost a major amount of points and possible prize money he could have earned.

After that, he faced another major defeat in California, and he lost more rankings. With Jannik Sinner rising at a concerning pace, we might soon see some changes in the ranking system. Furthermore, this also cost the Serbian a lot of money.
So far in two tournaments, the World No. 1 has racked up only $59,100. He usually earns hundreds and thousands more. This is the first time he has suffered a major prize money drop since 2022, when he only managed to hit around $45,000.
By taking an extended break, it looks like Djokovic might be trying to get his focus on the game back and prepare well for the clay season. With more tournaments left, the Serbian has a few opportunities to try to get his form back.
