It’s Garcia and Garcia versus…Garcia!
It was Garcia and Garcia versus…Garcia on Tuesday night’s (March 19) episode of The Voice as Season 25’s Battles entered their second episode. This time around, 17-year-old twins Justin and Jeremy Garcia went head-to-head with 19-year-old Frank Garcia. The members of Team Dan + Shay (a.k.a. the Coach duo of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) wowed the crowd, and the rest of the Coaches — Reba McEntire, John Legend, and Chance the Rapper — with an astonishing cover of “Million Reasons” by Lady Gaga.
“We paired [them] together because they’re more our pop, emotional singers,” Mooney explained ahead of the Battle. “I’m not looking forward to making this decision, but I am looking forward to hearing this performance. It’s gonna be a phenomenal.”
“It’s really gonna be about who steps up, pours their heart into this song, and delivers that breathtaking performance,” added Smyers.

Legend was the first up to offer feedback, praising Justin and Jeremy for being able to synch up so well. Turning to Frank, he said, “Your voice is so gorgeous. I love your vibrato. You were a One-Chair Turn and I’m like, ‘Dan and Shay, you guys are smart! You made a great decision!'” In the end, the veteran Coach cast his vote for Frank.
McEntire, on the other hand, sided with Justin and Jeremy after experiencing a nostalgic wistfulness that harkened back to her earliest singing days. “To have so much talent onstage under the age of 20 is mind-boggling,” she gushed. “Justin and Jeremy, I loved your expressions; you play off of each other. I come from a family [of singers], we were The Singing McEntires and there were three of us. The two of you sing so well together. And Frank, when you were singing with them, it reminded me of that blood harmony that I just love.”
Dan + Shay ultimately decided Frank would advance to the Knockouts. “Frank is just a star,” Smyers said. “The warmth and the power in his voice is really, really impressive. This is somebody I’m gonna follow long beyond The Voice.”
“Frank’s voice is very powerful; he has something very unique,” concluded Mooney. “There’s just something as a whole that Frank has: the voice, the vibe. He’s kind of the whole package.”
As Justin and Jeremy were leaving the stage, McEntire suddenly invoked her right to a Steal. You might recall how McEntire was one of three Coaches who turned her chair around for the twins during Blinds. “I wanted y’all so bad,” she admitted. “I love your harmonies, I love that you’re brothers, and it just sounds so good. I want to work with you so bad. Welcome to Team Reba.”
