John Legend working The Voice studio audience is always a treat.
y the time we get six episodes into any given season of The Voice, things are really interesting. Teams are starting to fill up, Coaches are getting extra choosy with their chair turns, and everyone’s starting to get a sense of how the competition might progress once we get into Battles. That means that, in these waning moments of the Blind Auditions, Coaches need the audience on their side more than ever, and John Legend knows that better than anyone.
Legend is now in his ninth season as a Coach on The Voice, which is more than enough time for him to understand how to work the studio audience crowd with his voice and his charisma. On Tuesday night (March 12), during a break between Auditions, Legend did exactly that, using the background music in the studio to lead the audience in an uptempo rendition of his hit ballad “All of Me.”
John Legend did an “All of Me” singalong on The Voice Season 25
“All of Me” has always been a crowdpleaser for Legend, but when done with a different beat, and an emphasis on getting fans involved, it was an absolute showstopper with The Voice studio audience. It was so fun that even Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney couldn’t resist singing along.

Written by Legend as a tribute to his wife, Chrissy Tiegen, and released in 2013, “All of Me” remains Legend’s most successful and enduring single. The song reached number-one on eight separate Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, and went 14 times platinum in the United States, earning a Grammy nomination along the way. Put simply, just about everyone knows this song, and it still works its magic for Legend.
But of course, he’s not the only one who can lead a singalong. Earlier in the season, Reba McEntire got a lot of energy from the crowd by leading them in a version of her own classic hit “Why Haven’t I Heard From You?” And the singalongs are probably just beginning, with plenty more episodes of Season 25 ahead.
