Some big gaps are ended — at least for recordings — in this week’s batch of new releases, including Justin Timberlake (eight years), the Black Crowes (15 years), Tierra Whack (six years) and Midnight Oil’s Peter Garrett (eight years). All that and Kacey Musgraves, plus something from the Jethro Tull archives (all subject to change)…

Justin Timberlake, “Everything I Thought It Was” (RCA): It’s been eight years since the singer and occasional actor was a “Man of the Woods. He’s back in sync and making up for lost time here with 18 songs, all of which he co-wrote. The album features another *NSYNC reunion on the track “Paradise,” as well as guest appearances Fireboy DML (“Liar”) and Tobe Nwigwe (“Sanctified”), plus production primarily by longtime collaborator Timbaland.

The Black Crowes, “Happiness Bastards” (Silver Arrow): The brothers Robinson and the latest configuration of their band unleash their first full-length studio effort in 15 years, 10 new tracks and a collaboration with hot country hitmaker Lainey Wilson on the track “Wilted Rose.”

The Dandy Warhols, “Rockmaker” (Sunset Blvd.): The Portland alt.rock troupe celebrates the 30th anniversary of its formation with its 12th studio album, featuring guest appearances by Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Guns N’ Roses Slash and Pixies’ Frank Black.

Peter Garrett, “The True North” (Sony Music Australia): The Midnight Oil frontman, activist and Australian politician delivers his second solo album, a set of songs that finds him accentuating the positive more than we’ve heard from him before.

Holly Humberstone, “Work in Progress” (Darkroom/Geffen/Polydor): The award-winning British singer and songwriter follows up her 2023 debut album “Paint My Bedroom Black” with her third EP, a four-song set that welcomes new collaborator Will Taylor from Flyte in addition to her regular partners.

Jethro Tull, “The Chateau D’Herouville Sessions” (Rhino): The long-lived British band dips into its past for these 1973 recordings intended for a double album that did not come to pass. “A Passion Play” followed, while “Skating Away on the Thing Ice of the New Day” and “Law of the Bungle” (altered) would show up on the group’s “War Child” album.

Kacey Musgraves, “Deeper Well” (Interscope/MCA Nashville): The country/pop-straddling singer and songwriter recorded her sixth studio album at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, collaborating on songs with co-produces Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, as well as Shane McAnally, Josh Osbourne and Anna Nalick.

Scott Stapp, “Higher Power” (Napalm): The Creed singer advances the band’s upcoming reunion tour with his fourth solo album, and first in five years, a 10-track set that includes guest appearances by Dorothy, Yiannis Papadopoulos and British songwriter to the stars Steve McEwan.

21 Savage, “American dream” (Slaughter Gang/Epic): The British-born, Atlanta-based rapper’s third studio album features a wealth of guests, including Doja Cat, Travis Scott, Lol Durk, Metro Boomin, Burna Boy, Summer Walker, Mariah the Scientist, Brenty Faiyaz and others.

Tierra Whack, “World Wide Whack” (Interscope): The Philadelphia rapper/singer’s first full-length in six-years (though there were three EPs during 2021) comes on the heels of singles “Chanel Pit,” “Shower Song” and “21 Club.”
