Lindsey Vonn and Roger Federer are two of the sports besties that every sports enthusiast is aware of. The two share a special bond and have been spotted together on numerous occasions. Be it appearing in a chocolate ad with the Swiss maestro or reuniting with him during Wimbledon, their friendship has been on display in several instances. However, in a recent update, the American alpine skiing prodigy was seen enjoying the company of another tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, during the ongoing Indian Wells Open in California.

Vonn has shared some heartwarming updates on her social media that can make her fans wonder if she has found another tennis pal in the Serbian legend. Their camaraderie has left everyone in awe and she has also revealed an inside secret about Nole.

When Lindsey Vonn met Novak Djokovic

On Sunday, the Minnesota native took it to X, shared a couple of pictures with Djoker, and penned down some really thought-provoking lines for him. She wrote, “Hanging with the GOAT , and yes, I do believe he is the goat. Contrary to twitter beliefs, I think there can be more than one. But @DjokerNole holds the records and I have nothing but respect for what he’s achieved… and he skis!” Serbinator is known for having interests in multiple sports and if this tweet from Vonn is to be believed then he is into skiing as well which is only going to make their bond stronger.

Vonn is known for being a strong-headed person, and she speaks her heart out on things that she thinks are right. This is one of numerous instances when the Saint Paul-based retired skier has been candid with her words. On the other hand, Djokovic is currently preparing for the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, where he is looking to win his first major title of the 2024 season. If he manages to do so, he will join an elite list of tennis stars and will attain a rare milestone that not many have achieved, and he is surely one of the legends to watch out for at the Californian event.

He is almost there

36-year-old Djokovic has achieved almost everything that was there on a tennis court to achieve, and he’s still not done yet. However, if he wins the Indian Wells title this year, then he will become the oldest player to hold the latter title. He is contesting the event after 2019 and will be appearing in this competition after five years of hiatus. If he manages to cross the finish line, then he’ll also break Federer’s record of being the oldest Indian Wells titleholder.

Another milestone that he can achieve is winning the most number of titles in Indian Wells, having done it in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016. If he does so, he’ll again go past Federer’s record of winning five titles. Another landmark that he can attain is being the king of hard court. He currently shares the record of clinching 71 titles on hard court with Federer, and he only needs one win to surpass the Swiss legend.
