Being a part of tennis history, is Novak Djokovic destined to conquer more Grand Slam titles and etch his name deeper into the sport? Last year, after his 24th Grand Slam title, many felt he would continue to dominate the court and win major titles this year too. But after his Australian Open defeat, confidence in this idea seems to have taken a knock.
Recently American tennis coach, Brad Gilbert, made a bold prophecy regarding the Serbian tennis player’s upcoming year. Along with that, he also detailed his thoughts on Djokovic maintaining his relationship with Father Time.
Coco Gauff’s coach shares a strong Novak Djokovic prophecy
He stated, “We are seeing athletes now, nobody beats Father Time, but we see a lot of athletes prolong Father Time like more than we have ever seen….” As a father to Stefan and Tara, while a lot of tennis players focus on family time, he has done more than that at that age.
Along with that, “So the expectation was, can he do it again? But like for me, if you went one or two this year, he is tied with the all-time record of 24, I wouldn’t be shocked if he got to 27-28. I still think he’s got more left in him.” Further, he also mentioned how he wouldn’t be surprised if Djokovic wins more titles this year and writes his name in history.
However, this is not the first time someone has made predictions about the Serbian tennis player’s 2024 tennis season. Just a few months ago, even Mats Wilander shared a massive tennis prediction.
Mats Wilander on Djokovic’s 2024 tennis season
A few months ago, tennis analyst Mats Wilander talked about the extraordinary potential of Djokovic and speculated that the legendary player from Serbia would complete a calendar Grand Slam in 2024.
He stated, “So I have a prediction to make. I think that next year, there is something like hasn’t done and you know, it’s the calendar Grand Slam next year, we got the Olympics, as well as the golden slam. We got the Davis Cup again. So I don’t know why there’s any reason to think he’s not going to win four out of those six next year.
Furthermore, Wilander shows his belief in Djokovic’s ability by predicting that he might win the Olympic gold medal in the near future. Not only that, this recognition highlights Djokovic’s position as a powerful player in the tennis world and heightens expectations for his possible future achievements.
