Balmain Paris Fashion Week has created hype amongst tennis fans after Serena Williams was spotted making an entrance in a sleek black dress. Serena has a connection with this fashion event due to her late close friend Virgil Abloh, who passed away in 2021. Time and again Williams has mentioned her bond with Abloh and with the Paris Fashion Week buzz, her tribute to Abloh has resurfaced once again.
Serena Williams had nothing but kind words for her friend at the same fashion event last year. However, despite that, she also shared how there is one thing that she regrets most of all despite the tribute and closeness with Abloh.
Serena Williams wishes she had gone through with Virgil Abloh’s on-court dress idea for her
Virgil Abloh passed away three years ago due to a rare regressive cancer after a 3-year battle with an untimely death. Not many had known about the condition, and passing was an especially heartbreaking moment for Williams. Exactly a year ago, the retired tennis player was in attendance at the Paris Fashion Week to pay tribute to her late friend. In his memory, she wore a black dress and walked down the ramp.
Well, this still seems to be a great loss for the industry and of course for Serena Williams as well. But in respect of her friend, even this year Serena Williams showed up at the event and attended it. In fact, she sported an outfit from her friend’s brand, Off-White.

Even after years of his friend’s passing, Serena Williams made sure to pay respects to her late friend, wearing the outfit in his honor, showing off Virgil Abloh’s brand Off White.
She wore a black strappy dress with black heels and shades. Williams topped her outfit with a black and white jacket, which belonged to the brand Off White. She even posted about it on her Instagram account and captioned it,
The fashion world thoroughly misses Abloh’s presence, and so do his friends.
