Kanye West suing former employee for £6million after she leaked texts with the rapper

Controversial rapper Kanye West is suing his former employee Julianne Goddard, for more than £6million over claims she violated an NDA and exposed personal information

Kanye West is suing one of his former employees for $8million (£6.3million) after she allegedly violated a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

The 46-year-old rapper is suing social media and talent manager YesJulz, real name Julianne Goddard, over claims she exposed personal information. The lawsuit comes after Kanye’s chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos sacked YesJulz.

Kanye, legally known as Ye, took to his Instagram Story to share a copy of the lawsuit filed against YesJulz. It read: “Julianne Goddard has repeatedly, intentionally and grossly violated the terms of her Non-Disclosure Agreement with complainants including publicly disclosing corporate sales figures, social media strategies, text messages with Ye and management, release plans for Vultures album and product designs before release.”

YesJulz had worked with Kanye to promote his new Vultures album. On March 12, the rapper announced he had parted ways with the social media personality.

“We have decided to no longer have YesJulz involved in the roll out of Vultures. All the activity on her page and with our fans in the past few days has been unauthorized,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

YesJulz had allegedly been reaching out to fan accounts on social media to try and recruit them to work on a free app, without Kanye’s consent. Kanye’s former employee has since responded to her dismissal on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I never wanted work done for free. I wanted to help the fans present their work to Ye. So that he could hire them. Anyone who has ever been in contact with me for as little as 5 minutes knows the last thing I’d ever need to steal, Is an idea,” she wrote.

YesJulz added: “F**k an NDA. Sue me.” She has also posted screenshots on X relating to her dismissal. In one post, she shared an email she received from Milo Yiannopoulos.

It read: “Enclosed please find a letter and statement of account from your time with Yeezy. Fines incurred to date as a result of your NDA violations come to $7.7million.” It adds that someone from Kanye’s compliance team will “reach out with information about payment” and that she could still land “more fines”.

YesJulz also hit out at her former employer, writing: “Ye is up against the system. Having the discussion with fans in an open forum setting was unconventional, but it allowed for inclusivity and open visibility for an entire fan base to opt in, give feedback, be heard, [and] connect with one another to combine efforts.”

She added: “[That’s] what I feel is needed for Ye to stay on top for these next two runs. I was also given specific direction to ‘rally’ the fans, let them each lead their own chapters, activate within their locations, etc. This was MY way of doing so.

“I am not a conventional woman and this is why I worked at the company I worked at in the first place.” She then shared messaged allegedly from Yiannopoulos, with Kanye’s fans referred to as “Down syndrome megafans” with “developmental disorders”.
