The NBA has had a pretty heated atmosphere for the past few weeks, with brawls breaking out everywhere. Most recently, in the Mavs vs Pistons game, PJ Washington got into a brawl with Jalen Duren, and the situation turned physical.

Washington has not been in the news for fighting with other NBA players and the same can be said about Duren. However, sometimes the adrenaline from the game takes over the emotions of these players and they end up in altercations.

PJ Washington and Jalen Duren got into a brawl

Dallas Mavericks forward PJ Washington got into a brawl with Pistons big man Jalen Duren in their Mavericks vs Pistons game on Saturday. The incident happened in the fourth quarter of the game, with seven minutes remaining on the clock. The video of the incident has been posted on social media and is going viral. The fans are expressing their opinions on the incident by flooding the comments section of the post.

In the video, we can see that the new member of the Mavs, Daniel Gafford, catches a pass and jumps to score it. Duren jumps in reaction to Gafford blocking the shot, however, the Pistons’ big man mistimes his jumps and comes down, crashing on Gafford. He then pushed the downed Gafford and sent him to the post. Washington arrives at the scene to check on his teammate and nudges Duren.

Duren shoves Washington in response to the nudge and this enrages the Mavs forward, who then pushes back Duren with all his strength. The referees and the officials on the court quickly get involved to stop the situation from getting worse. Jalen Duren was ejected from the match because of his fouls from earlier in the game, while Washington received a technical foul.

Mavericks defeat the Pistons

The Pistons tried to throw the Mavs off their game for the entirety of the match. The brawl between PJ Washington and Jalen Duren also looked like a tactic the Pistons tried to use. However, a spectacular performance by Mavs ace Luka Doncic saved the day for his team. Doncic delivered an MVP-level performance, scoring 39 points, collecting 10 rebounds, and providing 10 crucial assists.

The Pistons put up a tough fight with Cade Cunningham leading the charts for the Detroit Camp. However, the Mavs’ attitude in the game made their winning desire very clear. They have been on a losing streak and badly needed this win to change the momentum for the team. The Mavs ultimately secured the win with a final score of 142-124.
