Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday after 13 seasons with the team. His departure from the sport will leave a void that is hard to explain.

We saw him crying at the press conference with his family and his words showed again all his greatness. A special player is departing, one of those who leave a mark both on and off the field. But the truth is that his farewell is not definitive.

Fans can rest assured. Jason is leaving football, but we will continue to enjoy his essence.

We will listen to him for another year on his podcast New Heights with his brother Travis, we will see him in the stands cheering for the Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, in commercials and probably at some point as an analyst for a television network.

Jason Kelce saved Travis

In his distinguished career, Jason has accomplished something very difficult in sports: everyone likes him.

He’s like the friend everyone wants to have, and the luckiest one has been Travis, who is not only his best friend, but also his brother.

To the 34-year-old tight end, Jason is his hero. He saved him in the most difficult moment of his life and guided him on the right path. He is his reference, the mirror in which he looks at himself. The one who helped him get to where he is today.

A new stage begins for Jason in which he will finally stop causing suffering and pain to his body. After so many years as a professional and seven surgeries that pushed him to the limit several times, he will now be able to enjoy life more, and above all, his three daughters.

His only fear before retiring was to do it at the right time, so he could continue lying on the floor to play with his little ones and he will be able to do so. Now he is free of the demands of football, he can find happiness in other things. It’s time for a new Jason Kelce.
