Rachel Bush has offered a reaction to the Buffalo Bills releasing her husband.

The Bills announced having cut five players on Wednesday, with All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer one of them.

His wife was as stunned as all of us and took to Instagram to admit how taken aback she was. “I don’t have the words yet but they are coming (Along with so many photo memories),” she wrote.

She followed it up with an encouraging message a few minutes later.

“Right now I just want my husband to know what a leader and inspiration he is,” she shared. The impact he made will always be remembered. Both within the football world and outside as well. You went into Buffalo and gave that city something they were longing for. Changed the culture.

“You’re special my love and what you have done is such an accomplishment. A true game changer! My All-Pro, in life and on the field! We love you! Here’s to new beginnings! Something we both always welcome with open arms as we love excitement.”

After seven years with the Bills, Poyer is set to become a free agent. He isn’t likely to remain without a team very long, however.

The 32-year-old, a Pro Bowler in 2022, made 682 tackles, 48 pass breakups, 35 tackles for loss, 22 interceptions, and 11 sacks during his stint in Buffalo.

Meanwhile, the Bills have announced the release of safety Siran Neal, wide receiver and punt returner Deonte Harty, center Mitch Morse, and running back Nyheim Hines.

They’ve also restructured multiple contracts – including Rasul Douglas’ and Von Miller’s – to save cap space.
