REPORT: Every NFL Team Had THE SAME THING To Say About Caleb Williams After Combine Meetings

USC quarterback Caleb Williams, the heavy front-runner to go first overall in the next month’s draft, reportedly made a good impression on NFL teams he spoke to at the Scouting Combine.

There have been rumors going around suggesting that Williams did not leave a good impression at the Combine. Former Tennessee Titans Pro Bowl offensive tackle Taylor Lewan said that Williams gave off a bad “vibe”, and that the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner “is very full of himself.”

But during his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the contrary: That Williams had “positive” meetings with the NFL clubs he talked to during the Combine.

Not only that, but Rapoport revealed that the Chicago Bears are most likely going to use the No. 1 selection on Williams:

“It seems to be the reviews, the meetings were really positive. I don’t know that it’s a consensus, I don’t get the sense that everyone is a hundred percent on the same page…Most people believe the Bears are gonna take him No. 1.”

The Bears obtained the first overall pick from the Carolina Panthers, who surrendered their 2024 first-round pick as part of the deal to move up and take Alabama QB Bryce Young first overall a year ago. Obviously, the Panthers did not make the move thinking they would potentially finish as football’s worst team this year.

Assuming the Bears end up using the pick on Williams, they’ll certainly trade quarterback Justin Fields ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields had the best season of his young career in 2023 and would serve as a quality starter for a QB-needy team.

So barring any late surprises, expect Williams to don a Bears jersey when the NFL Draft commences on Apr. 25.
