Alabama's Kool-Aid McKinstry runs the 40 at Pro Day.

Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry not only proved that he’s fast, but he also showed NFL scouts that he’s tough as nails on Wednesday.

During the Crimson Tide’s Pro Day, McKinstry ran the 40-yard dash in just 4.47 seconds. The time may be unofficial, but it still helped the 2023 first-team All-American prove that he has the wheels to keep up with most wideouts.

And what’s even more impressive is that he ran his blazing time with a Jones fracture in his right foot. The injury was first discovered during McKinstry’s physical at the NFL Combine.

Despite knowing he had the injury, McKinstry still decided to take part in Alabama’s Pro Day. And he made quite the impression.

McKinstry didn’t work out at the NFL Combine because of his injury. He also performed the broad jump and vertical jump, recording 10’1″ and 34.5″ in each drill, respectively.

He’ll now undergo surgery on Friday, with the expectation that he’ll be ready in time for rookie camp after a one-month recovery, according to Tuscaloosanews.com.

Kool-Aid McKinstry Still Expected To Be A Top NFL Draft Pick Despite Injury

Despite the injury concern, Kool-Aid McKinstry is still expected to be taken on Day One of the NFL Draft one month from now. In fact, he went 29th overall to the Detroit Lions in Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft on NFL.com.

He was taken in the same spot in our latest post-NFL combine mock draft on TotalProSports.com. Whichever team lands McKinstry will be getting an elite corner who was named to the All-SEC team twice during his time in Tuscaloosa.
