Rihanna was awarded the title of national hero

Singer – billionaire Rihanna received the title of national hero at the founding ceremony of the Republic of Barbados, November 30.

According to Daily Mail , Rihanna is the 11th person and second woman in Barbados history to receive this title after religious leader Sarah Ann Gill – who died in 1866. She is one of two contemporaries to be honored, with cricket legend Garfield Sobers (1998). Sobers was also present at the ceremony, giving her a hug.
