A GOOD Morning Britain legend has announced his return to the ITV show following the departure of Ben Shephard.

Fan favourite Ben, 49, left his co-stars in tears during his final GMB episode last month before he switches to front This Morning with Cat Deeley, 47.

Now his replacement on a Friday – to fill the seat next to his best pal Kate Garraway, 56 – has been revealed.

Adil Ray, 49, took to his page on X over the weekend to report he is making a comeback.

He wrote: “From Friday, I’ll be back @gmb for most Fridays until the end of May.

“First run is the next three Fridays until the Easter break.

“Hope you’ll join me. In the current climate it feels like a huge privilege to be on morning telly.

“Would love it if you joined us from 6am. Thank you.”

Ben fought back tears on his last GMB which aired on February 23.

He has previously spoken out about how leaving his show “wife” Kate was the “hardest decision”.

Ben Shephard’s This Morning start date revealed by GMB co-star as he bids tearful goodbye to show
He was revealed as the new This Morning presenter with Cat prior to his show exit, with their start date now confirmed.

Ben and former SMTV Live host Cat will be the programme’s latest partnership and ultimate replacements for Holly Willoughby, 43, and Phillip Schofield, 61.

Their appointment confirmed The Sun’s exclusive back in December.

His This Morning statement read: “This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning.

“It’s an honour to be trusted with the reigns, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job.

“For the last ten years I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved.”
