Celebrity Big Brother viewers have questioned the ‘twist’ in the latest episode which saw Louis Walsh secure a place in the final amid criticisms over the most recent nominations.

Monday’s episode of the ITV show celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and at one point Big Brother requested a housemate head to the Diary Room. Colson Smith, 25, suggested that it be Fern Britton, 66, saying: “You’re the only person I trust!”

Fern found a pot of gold in the room, along with a fake red snake. She was then told: “You’ve been granted one wish – the biggest wish of all. You must choose one housemate to be evicted today. St. Patrick famously banished the snakes from Ireland, and now by finding the pot of gold, you have been selected to banish a housemate.”

She was tasked with secretly placing the snake on the chosen person’s pillow and she decided to target Louis, 71. However, there was a twist as it was later announced that her choice would be given immunity from the next eviction, therefore securing a place in Friday night’s final.

Some viewers took issue with the ‘twist’ and suggested on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the reality TV show had been “rigged” to get Louis to the final. One person tweeted: “That was so set up to make sure Louis was in the final.”

Another person said: “I’ve never seen a bigger fix than this twist specifically to get Louis Walsh to the final. They knew they’d all pick Louis & knew Louis is too lazy to go to the Diary Room.” Whilst a third viewer commented recently: “This was a transparent af stitch up to get Louis to the final.”

Someone else said: “The producers definitely made sure that someway, somehow, Louis would make that final!” A fourth person wrote: “Its definitely rigged because the producers know every single housemate would of gave that snake to Louis so this is just some bs way of making him immune.”

Others speculated that if another housemate had been given the snake, they would have been evicted. One person wrote: “I am convinced that if the snake wasn’t placed under Louis’s pillow, they would have had a back door exit.”

Others described it as an “absolute joke” and “disgusting”. Someone else said: “This series has been so unbelievably rigged to get Louis to the final I’m so fed up.” Another said: “Rigged for Louis what a shock.”

Not everyone was unimpressed by Louis getting immunity. One person wrote: “Good job the producers fixed it so that Louis would be in the final because the other guys potentially going through are semi boring.” Another said: “It’s obviously rigged and stinks of producer meddling because they’re desperate to keep him, but I’m so glad Louis is staying because this show is nothing without him.”

The episode also showed the latest round of nominations. It was revealed that Fern, Zeze Millz, 34, and Marisha Wallace, 38, are now up for eviction. They join Nikita Kuzmin, 26, who volunteered to be up on Sunday night’s episode, when one housemate had to accept a “killer nomination”.

David Potts, 30, was among those who nominated Marisha. His reasons included that she had been “one of the only ones to literally not say a word” when they were deciding who would accept the “killer nomination”.

Similarly, among Colson’s reasons for nominating her was that she “sat there in silence”. He mentioned the “killer nomination” situation when nominating Fern too, saying that he felt “unsupported”. Bradley Riches, 22, also nominated Marisha and said at one point: “Everyone should play equally within a team.”

Some fans aren’t impressed by Marisha being up for eviction in part because of the “killer nomination” task. They suggested that Bradley should have also received nominations, noting that he didn’t volunteered to be nominated either, like Marisha, in the scenes broadcast over the weekend.

One person tweeted: “Bradley also didn’t step forward but he avoids nomination which is weird.” Another said: “You can’t nominate Marisha for ‘sitting in silence’ and not Bradley.” A third person said: “Marisha and Bradley stayed quiet…. yet only one of them is up for eviction based on that reason… hm.” Another wrote: “Bradley didn’t nominate himself though? Why are they going for Marisha?”

Someone said: “Bradley is just as selfish as Marisha, no courage to put themselves up but only Marisha gets voted for it.” Responding to them, another viewer suggested that Bradley had “apologised” for not offering to be up for eviction.

“BRADLEY DID NOT STEP FORWARD! WHY ARE THEY NOMINATING MARISHA FOR NOT STEPPING FORWARDS?” another tweet read. Someone said: “Funny how Marisha is now up for eviction and not Bradley despite them both not putting themselves forward in the test of courage task yesterday.”

And someone else said: “People are really annoyed that Marisha didn’t put herself forward for nomination. Are we missing the fact that Bradley didn’t utter a peep either? He seems to have been given a free pass. Bit odd!”
