Sharon Osbourne is said to been paid £500k for her short stint as the lodger this series while her pal Louis Walsh is believed to got £250k.

Meanwhile previous series have seen much lower fees, with shamed reality star Stephen Bear reportedly being paid just £15k in 2016.

Now Nicola, 42 – who has had three stints in the CBB house – has told how housemates are specifically warned not to talk about money.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, she said: “You’re not allowed to.

“If you speak about it Big Brother will come over the speaker and say, like, you’re breaking a rule. So yeah, it’s a rule that you’re not allowed to tell.”

And Nicola admitted that, if she’d known that someone was being paid a lot more than her, she wouldn’t have been happy.

She said: “If I was in there and I knew that I’d probably go to the producers and tell them I’m not doing much more because I’m being underpaid.”

Nicola also backed Louis Walsh after he left fans divided over his comments about Jedward.

He branded the duo “vile” but admitted he’d earned £5m from managing them.

Recalling her own experience with them during the 2017 series of CBB, Nicola said: “I live with Jedward.

I lived with Jedward and it was hell – I agree with Louis Walsh, CBB legend Nicola McLean tells our podcast
“It was hell, it really was. I found them really antagonistic and contrived.

“I thought I would love living with them because I’m quite childlike and always on the go but they were non-stop.”

Nicola added: “All Louis is doing is speaking the truth and bringing the gossip – it would be quite boring without him!”
