SHOCKING REVEALS: Throughout the 40-minute speech during a press conference in Philadelphia, Jason shares one of the most important, he said, was meeting Kylie at a 2014 Philadelphia Eagles Christmas Party. - Football Blog

During his heartfelt retirement speech earlier this week, Jason Kelce expressed his gratitude to many individuals who had supported him throughout his illustrious 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Amidst his reflections, Kelce warmly recounted a significant moment that changed the course of his life forever: his encounter with his future wife, Kylie, at Buffalo Billiards after the Eagles’ Christmas celebration in 2014.

Kelce vividly remembered the lasting impression Kylie made as she entered the establishment that night. “I still remember the moment she walked in,” Kelce reminisced. “It was like time stood still, her presence filling the room with an undeniable aura. As she spoke, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Is this what love truly feels like?’ She possessed a rare blend of beauty, intelligence, gravity, and playfulness.”

Their initial meeting at Buffalo Billiards, a popular bar in Philadelphia’s Old City, marked the beginning of a decade-long journey that led to marriage and the joy of raising three daughters.

Kelce, a highly decorated athlete with seven Pro Bowl appearances and six All-Pro selections, credited much of his success to the unwavering support and influence of his wife, Kylie. “It’s no coincidence that my greatest achievements coincide with her presence in my life,” Kelce acknowledged.

“Her steadfast love, encouragement, honesty, intellect, and occasional tough love have propelled me to greater heights both on and off the field. She hasn’t just given me three wonderful daughters; she’s enriched my life in ways that go beyond the game. It’s been an incredible journey, Ky.”

However, Kelce’s retirement speech only scratched the surface of their story.

In a candid conversation on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Travis, the Kelce brothers, and Kylie delved deeper into the events of that memorable night in 2014. The evening, which ended with former Eagles teammate Beau Allen helping Jason back to his apartment, marked the beginning of a decade filled with shared experiences, challenges, and triumphs.

“You fell asleep 45 minutes after I arrived because you were too drunk,” Kylie recounted on a “New Heights” episode last year. “And then Beau Allen performed the most impressive physical feat of his life by carrying Jason back to his apartment.”

Despite the rough start to their first date, things worked out well for Kylie and Jason Kelce.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Buffalo Billiards acknowledged Jason Kelce’s remarks about meeting Kylie for the first time that night in 2014.

“The feeling is mutual,” the bar wrote. “Always a class act and a wonderful person. You’re always welcome in our establishment. Thanks to you (and @kykelce) for everything. Enjoy your retirement, @jason.kelce.”

During the press conference, Kelce also reflected on the highs and lows of his career – from being drafted to the franchise’s first Super Bowl victory in the 2017 season, and the recent setbacks in the 2023 season.
