The Rock took to social media again ahead of SmackDown on Friday and cut another scathing promo on Cody Rhodes, this time targeting Rhodes’ mother.

The Rock SmackDown promo

The Rock’s latest social media promo targets Cody Rhodes and his mother, setting the stage for tonight’s SmackDown.
The Rock is fully embracing his heel character in WWE, enjoying the freedom to cut promos of any length on social media.
This promo shows The Rock’s talent and excitement he brings to SmackDown and the WrestleMania 40 storyline.

The Rock is taking to social media again, cutting epic promos as his heel character and just hours ahead of Friday’s episode of SmackDown from Memphis, Tennessee.

Not as long as the 21-minute promo he uploaded last week, this one is still over eight minutes and he specifically targets Cody Rhodes and Cody’s mother.

The Rock's 2024 Movie Schedule Drops Big Hints Regarding Future WWE Plans

Responding to the promo Cody cut on Monday’s Raw, The Rock was using Friday’s upload to set the stage for tonight’s SmackDown.

He is likely to address The American Nightmare and how Cody got emotional last week, talking about how he’d like to hand the title to his mother because Dusty isn’t alive to see Cody win and finish his story.

After suggesting it was a huge mistake to slap The Rock on to end last week’s SmackDown, The Rock called Cody a crybaby again. He also mentioned that there was no way Cody would win the title from Roman Reigns.

The only belt Cody would be handed to his mother, Michell Rubio, was a blood-stained weight belt that The Rock would use on Night Two to beat Cody mercilessly.

This promo is another example of how much The Rock seems to be enjoying the heel character he’s portraying in WWE these days.

He’s had issues staying within the allotted time frame on the weekly shows, so social media allows him a chance to send the message he wants at the length he wants without fear of commercials or the show ending.

He’s using his extremely large platform and following to promote the show, where he’ll likely spew an abbreviated version of today’s promo.

Still, this promo was incredible. It goes to show just how good The Rock is and what kind of excitement he’s bringing to both SmackDown tonight and the storyline for WrestleMania 40.

He’s made his own weight belt a character. Whether he follows through on his threats is anyone’s guess.
