Macaulay Culkin will forever be loved as the witty and intelligent boy Kevin McCallister in “Home Alone”.

“The rise and fall of a child star” is the title of the video posted on Screen Rant, summarizing the persistent tragedy of Macaulay Culkin, the male lead of the movie Home Alone .

Famous at an early age, with a broken family, losing his sister, divorcing his wife and falling into a series of scandals related to social evils, Macaulay Culkin went through such a bumpy and traumatic life.

Some Screen Rant viewers, after watching the video, commented: “What Macaulay experienced could be made into a movie.”

The aura came early and then suddenly disappeared

According to E! Online , the role of the witty boy Kevin in Home Alone (1990) completely changed Macaulay Culkin’s life. People no longer see Culkin crawling into the audience at the theater to pick up loose change. A poor boy living hard in a small house suddenly became a millionaire.

Macaulay received £76,000 after the first film, and was paid an additional £3.4 million for the second film. 

Everything happened like a dream in the eyes of a 10-year-old child until Mr. Kit Culkin – Macaulay’s father – quit his job at the church to manage his son. From here, the tragedy began.

Macaulay’s wealth and fame blinded his family. Yahoo revealed that Macaulay’s parents took advantage of him and controlled all his money since he became a Hollywood star.

In 1995, they went to divorce court but targeted Macaulay’s lucrative assets estimated at 11-15 million pounds to divide, without caring about the future of their child who was not yet capable of taking control of his life.

And as if by accident, the home alone scenario from the movie Home Alone seems to have entered Macaulay’s life. The actor was alone in a house lacking love.

Becoming famous too early combined with the shock of family separation pushed Macaulay Culkin into a deadlock. People said that it is difficult to imagine the image of the obedient and alert Culkin gradually becoming immersed in all-night fun, making friends with alcohol and drugs.

In 2020, fans relived their childhood memories when Macaulay posted a photo wearing a mask shaped like half of Kevin’s iconic face in Home Alone . This move shows that the actor misses his job and is ready to continue his unfinished career.

Macaulay Culkin now appears more often than before. March 2021, Yahoo! Movies posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos of the actor busy filming season 10 of American Horror Story at the beach at Malibu Pier.

 This is his most notable project in the past decade.

Although part of the group of additional actors for the new season, the name Macaulay is expected to attract high ratings for American Horror Story .

 The film’s producer, Ryan Murphy, confidently declared that the new part is different and more unique than the previous parts.

Besides movies, Macaulay appeared in the Gucci Love Parade show in November 2021 as a model, making the guests go from surprised to bursting into tears. 

In a stunning space in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, Macaulay wore a Hawaiian shirt combined with a metallic bomber and chinos. 

He put his hands in his pockets and walked with an arrogant gesture like someone walking on a catwalk.

The family is complete after turmoil

According to Us Weekly , Macaulay Culkin knew many girls in his youth, but his deepest feelings were for actors Rachel Miner and Mila Kunis.

 The two beauties came to Macaulay during the period when he stood at the top and then slid downhill.

It wasn’t until his late 40s that the Home Alone star dared to love again, and his “companion” was Brenda Song, an Asian-American actress.

Although they did not spend their youth together and did not stick together during the most difficult times, more than anyone else, Brenda Song understood Macaulay very well because they both started out as child stars.

According to People , the duo fell in love while filming the movie Changeland in Thailand in 2017, officially dating that summer. 

Initially, Macaulay did not expect much from this love affair because the wound in his heart was still like an invisible barrier, separating him and Brenda.

After 5 years of a secret relationship, keeping his life away from showbiz noise, Macaulay firmly believes that Brenda is the woman he has always been looking for.

 Because of Brenda, he gave up partying, took work seriously, learned to cook and took care of his girlfriend’s mother who had cancer.

The duo has now moved to live together in an apartment in Los Angeles, USA. They raise three cats, a Shiba dog, parrots and fish. 

Macaulay and Brenda’s peaceful home is now full of excitement when they welcome their first child in April 2021.

Becoming a father at the age of 41, Macaulay said there are no words to describe the joy he and his wife feel.

On January 27, Macaulay’s representative confirmed on People that the couple was engaged after photos of Brenda appeared on the street with a diamond ring on her ring finger.

 Fans are happy because after going through many incidents, Macaulay is finally happy.
