The Dallas Cowboys haven’t made many moves in free agency, but they are doing some things with the roster.

On Friday, the team shockingly released wide receiver Michael Gallup and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch.

After giving Michael Gallup permission to seek a trade, the team has decided to part ways with him instead. Gallup was drafted by the Cowboys in the third round out of Colorado State in 2018.

In 2023, Gallup appeared in all 17 games for the Cowboys and caught 34 passes for 418 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

For 28-year-old Vander Esch, he was selected by the Cowboys with the 19th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Boise State.

Last season, Vander Esch appeared in five games for the Cowboys and recorded 30 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.
