New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has reportedly decided on his preferred landing spot ahead of his impending free agency.

Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston is reporting that the 27-year-old is looking to join the Texans and has “targeted” them “as his top potential destination.” It’s also understood that he has been in contact with their starting quarterback, C.J. Stroud.

According to Wilson, there’s mutual interest between the Texans and running back Devin Singletary after he led them with 898 rushing yards and four touchdowns last season. However, the team is “expected to explore additional running back options and there are scenarios where they sign more than one running back,” which makes Barkley a very interesting option.

Barkley played 14 games for the Giants in 2023, rushing for a total of 967 yards and seven touchdowns, gaining an additional 280 yards and another four scores off 41 catches.

Should he join Houston, they would immediately become one of the more formidable sides in the AFC. And, given their projected $67.4 million salary cap space, the Texans are thought to be one of the more attractive free-agent destinations in the NFL.
