Derrick Henry in uniform on bench

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – NOVEMBER 06: Derrick Henry #22 of the Tennessee Titans sits on the bench during the first half of their game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on November 06, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Derrick Henry was available.

Many teams had interest in him and that included the Dallas Cowboys.

Insanity seems like the path the Dallas Cowboys are heading down during this free agency period, because not only have they only signed one person, but they never even tried to contact Derrick Henry.

Henry, who signed a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, confirmed to Chris Russo that the Dallas Cowboys never reached out to him about a potential deal.

“The Cowboys never called at all,” Henry said.

That is unacceptable.

Henry’s deal is a two-year contract worth $16 million that can escalate as high as $20 million and includes $9 million guaranteed for the 2024 season.

Through the first eight seasons of his career, Henry has rushed for 9,502 yards with 90 touchdowns.

Last season in Tennessee, Henry ran for 1,167 yards on 280 carries and 12 touchdowns. That’s a rushing average of 4.2 yards per carry.

Now that he will be in a backfield with Lamar Jackson, he just might have even better numbers as they are both threats to a defense that will be even more on their heels.
