Zach Wilson in Jets beanie

Fans were understandably confused after a picture of Zach Wilson flashed in an unlikely location this Thursday.

The New York Jets quarterback has been permitted to seek a trade and is likely speaking to other teams, but no one expected him to be traded to a baseball team.

Of course, that’s not really the case, but his picture was on display on a New York Yankees jumbotron. For some reason, the Yankees put Wilson’s photo up instead of Jahmai Jones’, although the outfielder’s name was on the bottom.

Naturally, this led to confusion among fans. You can check out some of their reactions below:

Former OC Reportedly Open To Reunion With Zach Wilson

On another note, the Los Angeles Rams are believed to be a potential landing spot for Zach Wilson as Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer has reported that the team’s offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur would be “very open to a reunion.”

LaFleur was the Jets OC during Wilson’s first two years in the NFL. He has admitted that the team probably made a mistake starting Wilson as a rookie. The Rams OC blamed Wilson for many things that went wrong on offense during their time together but later claimed that the coaching staff was responsible for his poor development.

A move to L.A. would be complicated in any case. The Rams have already brought Jimmy Garoppolo in as a backup for Matthew Stafford, which means Wilson probably wouldn’t get any time under center next season.

It has also been suggested that the Kansas City Chiefs would be a great landing spot for him as playing behind Patrick Mahomes would do his career the world of good. That should have been the case with Aaron Rodgers in 2023, but things didn’t work out as planned.

Maybe a move to KC is exactly what Wilson needs, yet it appears the Yankees are also an option.
