People’s questions about John Cena at last night’s Oscars have finally been answered.

The WWE wrestler and Ricky Stanicky star rocked up to last night’s prestigious awards (March 10) in nothing but his birthday suit.

While I’m sure we can all agree that the actor has the body of a Greek god, he didn’t seemingly forget his clothes to show off his impressive physique, but as a part of a skit with Jimmy Kimmel.

Things got started as Kimmel made reference to an infamous incident in Oscars history.

At the 46th Academy Awards in 1974, a streaker called Robert Opel ran across the stage during the ceremony.

Kimmel kept saying how crazy it would be if a streaker was to run across the stage again, giving Cena his cue.

The 46-year-old then sheepishly shuffled across the stage in nothing but Birkenstocks and a large envelope seemingly covering his private parts.

People were quick to question if Cena was actually naked, and behind-the scenes photos have revealed all.

In one snap of the actor from behind, he’s seen with what could only be described as a piece of nude-colored cloth covering his front parts (if you catch my gist), all the way back to the top of his buttocks.

Aside from that and his sandals, he was completely naked – and you can’t help but admire his dedication and bravery to performing the risqué bit.

While many – Margot Robbie included – found the skit amusing, others hit out at the Oscars for allowing it in light of children potentially watching the Awards.

“I wonder if @JohnCena is going to apologize to the parents of the children that watched his naked ass onstage at the Oscars,” one person said.

“No surprise that John Cena is walking on stage naked at the Oscars during prime time TV that children are most likely watching,” fumed another.

Another angry invidiual penned: “The John Cena stuff is truly sickening. This man has children that looks up to him from his time in the WWE. I bet he blows up even more after that disgusting stunt at The Oscars.”

UNILAD has approached Cena’s representatives and The Oscars for comment.

John Cena stunned the audience at the Oscars with his announcement for the Best Costume Design.

The wrestler and actor did a bit with host Jimmy Kimmel about a streaker at the awards, before announcing the award ‘naked’.

Take a look at the hilarious skit below:

Viewers were left in stitches at the bit, which saw Cena draped in a curtain as he announced the award.

The curtain was necessary, what with the envelope seemingly being the only thing protecting Cena’s modesty.

Things got started as Kimmel made reference to an infamous incident in Oscars history.

At the 46th Academy Awards in 1974 a streaker called Robert Opel ran across the stage during the ceremony.

Kimmel then pointedly repeated a line about how crazy it would be if a streaker ran across the stage right now.

A sheepish Cena then could be seen appearing behind the set, or at least, his top half could.

The pair did a bit with Cena saying that they were going ahead with the bit as Cena feigned reluctance to do the joke.

Kimmel pointed out to Cena that he ‘wrestles naked’, with Cena responding that he actually wrestles in pants, to which Kimmel quipped that was ‘worse’.

Eventually, Cena took to the stage revealing that he was completely ‘naked’, with just the envelope seeming to conceal his modesty.

After hesitating at the mic, Cena pointed out that he would not be able to open the envelope without exposing himself to the assembled audience, and everyone watching at home.

In a hilarious reference to the award for Best Costume Design, he also pointed out that costumes are very important, to laughs from the audience.

The show then cut away to the nominations for best costume design. These were BarbiePoor ThingsKillers of the Flower MoonOppenheimer, and Napoleon.

Ultimately the award went to Poor Things costume design, with costume designer Holly Waddington taking to the stage to accept the award.

Kimmel’s hosting has already been the subject of controversy after he jabbed at Robert Downey Jr.

The comedian said: “This is the highest point of Robert Downey Jr’s long and illustrious career. Well, one of the highest points.”

Downey Jr. could be seen giving Kimmel a look which was clearly less than impressed, with some people joking that they were relieved he didn’t emulate Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock.

More to follow.

John Krasinski’s reaction to Emily Blunt on Oscars red carpet is melting people’s hearts

Oscars viewers are flooding to social media in awe of John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s appearance on the red carpet.

The A Quiet Place duo – who are also married and have been since 2010 – took to the carpet at the 96th Academy Awards ceremony last night (March 10).

And their interaction, particularly that of Krasinski with Blunt, has left viewers all saying the same thing. Prepare to feel a tug at your heart strings:

Blunt was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 2023 release Oppenheimer directed by Christopher Nolan, starring as Katherine ‘Kitty’ Oppenheimer, Robert Oppenheimer’s wife.

And from the moment she stepped on the red carpet alongside her husband, the 41-year-old wowed fans wearing a sparkly ivory floor-length Schiaparelli gown.

And it would appear her presence similarly wowed Krasinski who, in footage from the event, can be seen standing back to give Blunt her moment in front of the cameras, gazing at his wife before then widening his eyes and shaking his head almost in disbelief or as if to shake himself out of staring.

Blunt then beckons him over and the pair laugh at each other and the whole interaction has caused viewers to swoon.

Taking to X, fans of the duo can’t get over their interaction with one another on the carpet.

One user said: “John Krasinski being in awe of Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt.”

“The way he loves her makes me fall for him all the more. I adore them together,” another added.

A third commented: “John Krasinski knows how lucky he is.”

And a fourth wrote: “Tbh i’d react exactly like john krasinski if i was married to emily blunt.”

And the adoration only intensified after viewers spotted the pair yet again, moments before the award for Best Supporting Actress was announced.

A clip of the couple during the award for Best Supporting Actress being announced shows Krasinski holding onto Blunt’s hand and giving it a squeeze in support – the award going on to be won by Da’Vine Joy Randolph for her role in The Holdovers.

A X user wrote: “They make a great couple.”

Thankfully, it would seem any silly rumors about Blunt and Krasinski’s relationship being on the rocks have subsequently been well and truly squashed by their Oscars appearance – not that they need to prove anything to anyone anyway – the couple having become the subject of an avalanche of speculation online after last year’s Golden Globes.

Heartbreaking reason why Morgan Freeman was wearing glove on left hand at last year’s Oscars

Heartbreaking reason why Morgan Freeman was wearing glove on left hand at last year's Oscars

Warning: This article contains details which some readers may find distressing.

Morgan Freeman wore a glove on one hand to the Oscars last year and there’s a specific reason why.

The A Good Person actor attended the 95th Academy awards and appeared on stage alongside Barbie star Margot Robbie.

However, some viewers were distracted from the pair’s celebration of 2023 marking the 100th year of Warner Bros. Studios, instead taking to social media to question why Freeman was wearing only one glove.

And this isn’t the first time the 86-year-old has been spotted in public with a glove on his left hand either.

At the 2022 Qatar World Cup Opening Ceremony, Freeman took to the stage with Qatari YouTube star Ghanim Al-Muftah to help kick off the event and was seen wearing a similar compression glove on his hand.

But why has the actor needed to wear such an item?

Well, in 2008, the actor was involved in a major car accident which took place in Mississippi.

At the time, Freeman had driving late at night when his car left the road, flipping several times before ending up in a ditch not far from his then-home.

A local journalist also told the Guardian that paramedics had to use hydraulic cutters to free him from the vehicle, with the actor still conscious and making jokes with rescue workers throughout his ordeal.

Though emergency responders tried to treat Freeman at the scene, the Gone Baby Gone actor’s injuries were too great and he had to be flown over 100 miles away to hospital in Memphis.

Upon arriving it was discovered that the then-71-year old had suffered from a multiple broken bones and spent over four hours in surgery having his arm reset.

Although he would be able to act again, Freeman was left with permanent nerve damage and unbearable shoulder pain.

Unable to move his left hand, the actor’s limb began to swell and it was this that led him to wear the compression glove to ease his symptoms.

Speaking about his injury in 2010 to People magazine, Freeman revealed that it has never gotten any better

He said: “If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up. Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?”

The star also told Esquire a few years later that his fibromyalgia had also been impacted by the car with the shoulder pain shooting ‘up and down’ his arm.

Cillian Murphy praised for sending poignant message you might have missed in Irish language at the Oscars

Cillian Murphy praised for sending poignant message you might have missed in Irish language at the Oscars

People are flooding to social media in praise of Cillian Murphy’s speech at the 2024 Oscars.

At the 96th Academy Awards ceremony last night (10 March), the Irish-born actor took home the award for Best Actor for his role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

And there’s one part of his speech you may’ve missed or not quite understood and that’s because Murphy concluded his speech with a sentence spoken in Irish. Here’s Murphy giving possibly the best acceptance speech ever heard:

The 47-year-old starred in the 2023 release as the titular character, taking on the role of American theoretical physicist Robert Oppenheimer – the man who created the atomic bomb.

The performance saw him take home the award for Best Actor and subsequently become the first Irish-born person to win the accolade.

In his speech Murphy said: “I’m a little overwhelmed. Thank you to The Academy, Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas, it’s been the wildest, most exhilarating, most creatively satisfying journey you’ve taken me on over the last 20 years, I owe you more than I can say.

“Every single crew member, every single cast member on Oppenheimer you guys carried me through. All my fellow nominees, I remain in awe of you guys, truly.”

The actor went on to thank his ‘incredible team’ alongside his wife and other members of his family, however, it’s his final comment which shouldn’t have slipped your notice.

Murphy continued his speech by noting he’s a ‘very proud Irish man standing here tonight’.

He resolved: “You know, we made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb and for better or for worse we’re all living in Oppenheimer’s world so I would really like to dedicate this to the peacemakers everywhere. Go raibh mile maith agat.”

‘Go raibh mile maith agat’ is Irish for ‘a thousand thank yous,’ according to Machnamh.com.

And the actor’s conclusion of his speech in Irish Gaelic has seen an outpouring of praise for him online.

A clip of Murphy’s speech was shared to Reddit thread r/ireland by u/TombstonePete and people flooded to the post to weigh in on the actor’s use of the language

U/MIM86 said: “We hear ‘Go raibh míle maith agat’ so much nationally but to hear it being spoken by Cillian at the Oscars like this hits a bit differently. Absolute legend!”

“I very rarely care for celebrities and awards and I feel weird about national pride. But f**k me I am chuffed for the man. Hearing Irish being spoke on stage at this level of event made me smile,” u/Thebunsenburger added.

And U/Saint_EDGEBOI commented: “Absolute class act. Nice little message towards the end that I’m interpreting as a nod to Ireland’s support of a ceasefire in Gaza. It’s important for us to be the nation that always advocates for peace.”
