Johnny Depp’s Close Call: How a $10 Million Loan Saved His Homes
In the world of Hollywood stars, financial woes aren’t uncommon, and Johnny Depp is no stranger to the rollercoaster ride of fame and fortune.
Recently, headlines have been buzzing with news of Depp’s narrow escape from losing not one, but two of his prized properties in West Hollywood.
It’s a tale of financial brinkmanship, legal battles, and the lengths a celebrity will go to preserve their piece of the American dream.

The Foreclosure Threat
In 2016, Depp found himself on the brink of losing his smaller property on N. Sweetzer Avenue.
Records reveal that the home faced foreclosure, with a staggering amount of $4.28 million hanging over it like a dark cloud.
However, Depp managed to navigate through the storm and settled the debt, ensuring the property remained in his possession.
It was a close call, but it was only the beginning of his financial saga.
Castle in Peril
The more dramatic twist in Depp’s financial saga came in 2018 when his iconic castle-like home, nestled on 2.6 acres of prime West Hollywood real estate, plunged into a $5 million default.
This property, known for its uncanny resemblance to a gothic Bavarian castle straight out of a horror movie set, became the focal point of Depp’s battle to safeguard his investments.
With its eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and sprawling 7,430 square feet, this architectural marvel was more than just a home; it was a symbol of Depp’s eclectic taste and Hollywood grandeur.
The Lifeline: A $10 Million Loan
Faced with mounting debts and the looming threat of losing his beloved properties, Depp turned to a last-resort solution: a $10 million loan.
In March, Depp secured this massive loan from City National Bank, colloquially known as the “bank to the stars” for its history of providing generous lending deals to A-list celebrities.
This substantial financial injection became Depp’s lifeline, allowing him to stave off foreclosure and maintain ownership of his cherished West Hollywood homes.
Behind the Gates
Depp’s castle-like residence, located near the storied Sunset Strip, is a sight to behold.
Tucked away on a secluded cul-de-sac, the property is shrouded in lush foliage and towering trees, offering seclusion and privacy fit for a Hollywood icon.
Despite its hidden location, the home hasn’t escaped the attention of eager fans and tour operators, who flock to catch a glimpse of the legendary actor’s abode.
A Tale of Two Homes
While Depp’s properties may have been spared from foreclosure, his presence within them is scarce.
The actor, now 60, spends the majority of his downtime at his island retreat in the Bahamas, a tranquil sanctuary far removed from the glitz and glamor of Hollywood.
Even as news of his financial struggles reverberates through tabloids and gossip columns, Depp remains focused on his music career, touring Europe with his band, Hollywood Vampires.
The Hollywood Rollercoaster
Johnny Depp’s financial saga serves as a cautionary tale for celebrities navigating the unpredictable waters of fame and fortune.
Despite the trappings of success, even the biggest stars aren’t immune to financial turbulence.
Yet, Depp’s resilience in the face of adversity underscores the enduring allure of Hollywood’s elite, where fortunes rise and fall like the tides of the ocean.
As Depp continues to tread his own path through the highs and lows of celebrity life, one thing remains certain: the show must go on.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are NOT getting married anytime soon, source claims – after Chiefs’ tight-end’s loutish behavior saw Swifties urge singer to heed ‘red flags’
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are not planning to get married in the near future, according to a new report – despite the Super Bowl winner flying around the world to follow her latest Eras Tour dates.

Kelce is currently in Singapore, where has seen the final two shows of her current tour before a two-month break. He also flew to Sydney to be with her in February.
But according to US Weekly, the couple are not planning on taking things forward anytime soon – and it comes amid some questionable antics from the Chiefs star in recent weeks.
Kelce screamed in the face of his coach Andy Reid, a 65-year-old grandfather, during the Super Bowl in February, before appearing to be drunk during the team’s ensuing parade to celebrate their win, which was marred by a shooting.
US Weekly quoted a source as saying: ‘Travis and Taylor are still in the “honeymoon” phase and the relationship is serious. They are on the same page about the future but are not rushing marriage or the next step.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are reportedly not planning on getting married in the near future
Kelce was criticized by Swifties when he screamed in Andy Reid’s face at the Super Bowl
He also appeared to be very drunk at Kansas City’s Super Bowl parade the following week
‘Travis is going the extra mile to make sure he is showing support for Taylor during his off time.
He is so happy he can be there for her, and show up for her even during the international leg of her tour.
‘Things are going really well and they have a great system going on. They both understand how busy they are and are very accommodating to schedules. They FaceTime and text a lot when they aren’t together.’
Many Swifties who saw Kelce’s outburst at his coach Reid on the sidelines in Las Vegas were left stunned, with some taking to social media to brand the moment ‘a red flag’.
One fan wrote on the time on X: ‘And just like that I’m suddenly less excited about Travis Kelce. You don’t get to ape up someone all aggressive like just because you’re frustrated. Taylor, my darling, my dove, my lamb, this is a big red flag.
Another said: ‘Travis Kelce is a red flag. That aggression isn’t what Taylor needs.’
His older brother, Jason, was unimpressed and said as much on their New Heights podcast.
‘You crossed the line, I think we can both agree on that,’ the older Kelce brother said. ‘Let’s be honest, the yelling in his face is over the top. I think there are better ways to handle this retrospectively.’
Kelce is currently in Singapore and has watched Swift’s last two shows in the country
Swift now has a two-month break before undertaking a mammoth four-month Europe tour
Travis said: ‘I can’t get that fired up to the point where I’m bumping coach and he’s getting off-balanced and stuff.’
The day of the Chiefs parade, Kelce was clearly very drunk as he downed beers with fans and seemed to slur his words as he addressed supporters on a microphone.
Later that day, hours after a shooting killed one and injured several children, pictures emerged of Kelce in a bar, with a number of teammates, as the Super Bowl celebrations carried on.
Kelce later donated $100k to a family whose two daughters were shot during he parade, through his Eighty-Seven and Running Foundation.
The 34-year-old is expected to follow Swift to Europe later this year for the first half of her four-month run of tour dates across the continent.
He will likely return to Kansas City around late July as his team bids for an unprecedented NFL ‘three-peat’ next season.
