Winning the round of 1/32 of Indian Wells 2024, Novak Djokovic reached the milestone of 400 wins at Masters 1,000 tournaments.

This morning, Djokovic defeated Australian tennis player Aleksandar Vukic (ranked 69) with a score of 2-1 (6-2, 5-7, 6-3) after 132 minutes of confrontation.

With this victory, the world number 1 tennis player has achieved 51 wins at Indian Wells. Thereby, reaching the milestone of 400 victories in Masters 1,000 tournaments (Indian Wells: 51, Miami: 44, Monaco: 36, Hamburg/Madrid: 30, Rome: 67, Canada: 37, Cincinnati: 45, Madrid/Shanghai: 40 , Paris: 50). However, Djokovic is only the second person to achieve this milestone after Rafael Nadal (reaching 400 matches in 2022).

At Masters 1,000 tournaments, Djokovic has the best winning rate (82.3%) and owns the most titles (40) in history.

Defeating Vukic, Djokovic had his first victory at Indian Wells in 5 years. “It’s amazing. It’s been a long time, 5 years is quite a long time for a professional tennis player. The last time was in 2019 and it still feels like yesterday.”

Also in this round, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Matteo Arnaldi with a score of 2-1, Jannik Sinner easily won Thanasi Kokkinakis 2-0.

The Serbian tennis player’s next opponent in the round of 16 will be Luca Nardi (Italy) ranked 123 tomorrow morning (March 11). Meanwhile, Alcaraz or Sinner both face players ranked in the top 50, Felix Auger-Aliassime (ranked 31st), Jan-Lennard Struff (ranked 25th) on the same day.
