Taylor Swift achieved this achievement after releasing the re-recording of her album “Speak Now”.
Spotify recently announced that Taylor Swift officially became the first female artist in history to reach 100 million monthly listeners. In addition, Taylor is also the second artist to achieve this achievement.
The record for most monthly listeners still belongs to The Weeknd with more than 110 million listeners. Bad Bunny ranked third, behind Taylor Swift, with 80 million listeners.
The good news was posted by Spotify after Taylor Swift re-released her album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) last July. Immediately after its release, the album rose to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 716,000 album units. The new version of Speak Now also helped the singer born in 1989 be honored as the first female artist to own 4 albums reaching the top 10 of the Billboard chart at the same time.
As predicted, Taylor is fully capable of extending her achievements after releasing the re-recorded version of her hit album 1989. The album will be released this fall and is one of the most anticipated albums in this year.
