The crime thriller Marlowe is Liam Neeson’s hundredth movie, and the Academy Award nominee will join the distinguished list of actors to play private eye, Philip Marlowe.
He has played numerous roles in a variety of genres since his early days on the theater stage and is now a recognized name in Hollywood. Liam Neeson is mainly popular for his action-packed roles in blockbusters like The Commuter and Taken, but he also delighted us with heartwarming performances in films like Love Actually.
The Love Actually actor made his recent visit to the talk show last week to promote his leading role in Marlowe, the most recent adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s famous detective role, Philip Marlowe. In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, Liam Neeson discussed his recent appearance on ABC’s The View, which he called “embarrassing.”

Liam Neeson was ‘uncomfortable’ being a guest on The View
During his recent appearance on The View, Liam Neeson admitted to feeling “uncomfortable.” The 70-year-old actor felt an awkward turn during his last appearance on the talk show to promote his lead role in Marlowe. The majority of the segment was devoted to the host, Joy Behar’s adoration for Neeson, and featured a montage of videos of her making on-air remarks like, “I would just like to have my ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson.”
Behar even quoted The Bounty actor’s well-known line from the movie Taken, “I will find you and I will kill you,” after one of her co-hosts made a joke about it, “Joy wants to get taken by you.”
Despite the laughter from the audience, Neeson, who wore a stony expression, didn’t appear to find the comment amusing. In response to the interview, he has since disclosed the following to Rolling Stone,
“I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They’re talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it’s an American problem.”

The Mission actor later joined the women on stage,
“And then our segment starts, and It’s just all this Bullsh*t with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn’t impressed.”
Despite this, he did say that following the embarrassing encounter, he and co-host Sunny Hostin were able to have a “good, intelligent conversation.” This follows after they discussed Liam Neeson’s upcoming project, Neil Jordan’s thriller The Riker’s Ghost. Jordan has also written and directed The Crying Game.
Liam Neeson’s upcoming ‘The Riker’s Ghost is a unique take on the prison escape’
Liam Neeson will be playing the role of a prisoner who is about to be released but is then forced to help a terrorist escape, according to Deadline. The movie’s script was written by Sean O’Keefe and Brian Rudnick, and production is scheduled to start in September 2023.
Neeson said that after working together on the thriller Marlowe, he will again be collaborating with Neil Jordan and producer Alan Moloney for his upcoming The Riker’s Ghost. It is a risky journey from imprisonment to freedom taken by a person who only wants to serve out his sentence; as Jordan said, it “is a unique take on the prison escape.”
