Liam Neeson appeared on the talk show 60 Minutes, opening up about his sadness and emptiness over the past 5 years since his beloved wife died.

In March 2009, his wife, Natasha Richardson, suffered head injuries and brain death in a skiing accident in Montreal, Canada. Liam had to make the painful decision to let his wife pass away peacefully.

Liam tearfully recounted: “I went to her and said: ‘Honey, you hit your head and you’re never going to wake up. I don’t know if you can hear me. I will.’ take you back to New York and all your family and friends will come to you…

Before, she and I had a pact that if for some reason one of us had to maintain a real life. “It’s the other person’s responsibility to end that situation… After looking at her and looking at all the wires, I pulled out the breathing tube and let her go.”

To this day, the pain of loss still lingers in the action movie star’s heart. He confided: “It’s like a rolling wave. Sometimes those deep emotions come rushing back. I know that life is not eternal, but I still can’t get used to that.”
