NBA Fans React To How Tall Victor Wembanyama’s 16-Year-Old Brother Is

Victor Wembanyama entered the NBA with a ton of hype this season, and thus far he has largely lived up to it.

While the San Antonio Spurs are obviously struggling, as evidenced by their 13-51 record, Wembanyama has mostly played to expectations.

The blueprint is clearly there for a lot of success going forward.

A big part of why Wembanyama is who he is happens to come from his sheer size. The young French star’s actual height has been the subject of much debate, but he is listed at 7’4” almost everywhere.

This week NBA fans learned that Wembanyama’s 16-year-old brother is huge in his own right:

“Oscar Wembanyama, 16, has only been playing basketball for a year and a half,” Jonah Kubicek of Sports Illustrated wrote this week.

“Despite that, he took home a U15 national title in France in 2022 and has been signed to the ASVEL U18 team, which is the junior team for Victor’s former club. Unlike his brother, Oscar is “only” 6-8. While that seems massive for a teenager, his brother was seven feet even by then.

“Oscar is not the showstopper that his brother is, averaging only 2.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals. Keeping in mind that he’s playing two years above most kids his age, that’s not bad at all.”

Given Wembanyama’s propensity for making headlines for everything ranging from how muscular he looks in recent photos to who his favorite NBA player is to his wild photo with Malika Andrews, it unsurprising that his celebrity is spilling over to his family members.

Heck, even his sister has become a viral star in recent months.

As Wembanyama enjoys more and more success with the Spurs going forward, his profile will continue to grow.

Will Wembanyama’s brother eventually evolve into the sort of player he is? Time will tell.
