The world of One Piece is full of powerful Devil Fruits, including a few that could potentially Awaken in the series’ final saga.

Shiryu, Nico Robin, and Buggy the Clown

Since its inception in 1997, One Piece has become one of the most popular anime franchises in the world. The adventures of its protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, span several decades and tens of narrative arcs, but after over 25 years of syndication, the series is finally entering its final saga. Before One Piece draws to a close, there are still plenty of major developments that need to occur in its narrative. This includes the Awakening of various Devil Fruits, several of which belong to the series’ most important characters.

Almost any Devil Fruit increases the strength of its user. However, in a few rare instances, an individual can Awaken their Fruit, giving them access to abilities that are significantly more powerful. Important figures like Donquixote Doflamingo, Trafalgar D. Water Law, and even Monkey D. Luffy have achieved this feat, and using their newfound powers, they each staked a claim as the Grand Line’s most influential pirates. While it remains to be seen which Devil Fruits will Awaken in One Piece‘s final saga, there are plenty of characters that could achieve this power-up.

Any Devil Fruit wielded by an Emperor of the Sea is guaranteed to be incredibly powerful. This is especially true for the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, which is the only Devil Fruit in One Piece to be wielded by two separate Emperors: Edward Newgate and Marshall D. Teach. Using this Fruit, the duo can unleash massive quakes that are large enough to threaten entire islands; however, despite its incredible power, there’s a chance that its full potential still hasn’t been realized. One Piece has never mentioned the Tremor-Tremor Fruit alongside the series’ other Awakened Devil Fruits, and since Blackbeard has only been using it for around two years, it seems unlikely that he has broken through this barrier.

To be fair, Whitebeard’s feats in the Marineford Arc suggest that he may have very well Awakened the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, so fans may have already seen its full power. That said, Teach has failed to demonstrate that he possesses the same level of raw strength as Whitebeard, which is why it’s doubtful that the villain has Awakened the Tremor-Tremor Fruit’s true powers. Given his affinity for Devil Fruits, it would only be appropriate for Teach to Awaken his Fruit’s true powers, thereby cementing him as one of the series’ strongest characters.

The Straw Hats have a great pirate crew, but fans still like to think about who the next Straw Hat could be.

Following the Raid on Onigashima, the Straw Hat Pirates are as infamous as any pirate crew sailing the Grand Line. Monkey D. Luffy and his allies possess a wide range of unique abilities, including several different Devil Fruits that could potentially awaken in One Piece‘s final saga. Tony Tony Chopper, the Straw Hat Pirates’ doctor, wields the Human-Human Fruit, making him one of only two Straw Hat Pirates to possess a Zoan-type Devil Fruit (the other being his captain, Luffy).

While Chopper is far from the strongest Straw Hat Pirate, he does have an uncanny ability to control his Devil Fruit, as evidenced by the various forms that he can take with his Rumble Ball. Giving the beloved reindeer a Devil Fruit Awakening would be the perfect reward for his hard work, and it would significantly bolster the Straw Hat Pirates’ strength heading into their inevitable war with the World Government.

Zoan-type Devil Fruits are generally quite powerful, as their primary effect is the increased physical attributes of their owner. The same can be said for Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruits, but in addition to major boosts in speed and strength, these Devil Fruits also give their user a special set of abilities, making them much stronger than their non-Mythical alternatives.

Yamato, the child of Kaido and an ally to Wano Country, wields the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Okuchi-no-Makami, granting them the ability to transform into an ancient wolf deity. Using this Devil Fruit, Yamato was briefly capable of trading blows with her father, who is arguably the strongest Emperor of the Sea for most of One Piece. Since Yamato and the other residents of Wano seem poised to assist Monkey D. Luffy in the series’ final saga, a Devil Fruit Awakening would be a massive help to their plans.

Because of Marshall D. Teach’s power to transfer/steal Devil Fruits, the Blackbeard Pirates possess some of the most sought-after abilities in One Piece. Several characters have been killed by the group for their powers, including the Thriller Bark Arc’s secondary antagonist and former owner of the Clear-Clear Fruit, Absalom.

After Absalom’s death, his Devil Fruit’s powers were transferred to Shiryu of the Rain — the disgraced Head Jailer of Impel Down. The Clear-Clear Fruit perfectly complements Shiryu’s ruthless nature, who legitimately stands a chance to Awaken the Devil Fruit in One Piece‘s final saga. If other Devil Fruit Awakenings are any indication, then an Awakened Clear-Clear Fruit might even be able to apply its effects on objects other than its user, potentially making the Blackbeard Pirates a gang of imperceptible assassins.

6.The Age-Age Fruit Has Incredible Potential

From Luffy to Doflamingo Donquixote, these fan favorite characters helped establish Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece as an iconic anime series.

One Piece‘s Egghead Arc was expected to be a major turning point in the series’ narrative, but few fans expected the return of the hungriest member of the Worst Generation, Jewelry Bonney. The pink-haired pirate is saved by Monkey D. Luffy and his crew shortly before they arrive on the island of Dr. Vegapunk, giving her a brief chance to remind fans of her unique Devil Fruit: the Age-Age Fruit.

The Age-Age Fruit allows Jewelry Bonney to manipulate the age of any character that she touches, which is why her appearance changes so drastically throughout the series. Because of its strange nature, it’s hard to know how a Devil Fruit Awakening would affect the Age-Age Fruit’s powers, but there’s no doubt that it would help elevate Jewelry Bonney to the same level of strength as the lesser members of the Worst Generation.

When it comes to the Straw Hat Pirates, the so-called Monster Trio (Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, and Sanji) are perceived as the crew’s strongest fighters by a sizable margin. While it’s likely true that these characters are more powerful than the rest of the crew, Nico Robin and her Flower-Flower Fruit should not be underestimated.

After the Raid on Onigashima, Robin’s bounty is increased to over 900 million Berries, making her one of the most-wanted criminals in One Piece. Most of this total stems from her ability to decipher the Poneglyphs, but as evidenced by her fight with the Beast Pirates’ Black Maria, Nico Robin shouldn’t be underestimated in combat either. Her control of the Flower-Flower Fruit has steadily progressed since joining the Straw Hat Pirates, so it’s not unreasonable to think that she could Awaken this Paramecia-type Devil Fruit in the series’ final saga.

4.The Press-Press Fruit Is Already One Of The Series’ Strongest Devil Fruits

The Marines are the most powerful military organization in One Piece, and at the top of their hierarchy sits an elite group of officers known as the Admirals. Although it isn’t a requisite for the position, each of the Admirals uses a rare Devil Fruit that significantly bolsters their strength. In the case of the blind Admiral Fujitora, he wields the Press-Press Fruit, granting him the ability to create and manipulate gravitational fields with relative ease.

One Piece never explicitly states whether Admiral Fujitora has Awakened the Press-Press Fruit, so the honorable Marine may have already achieved this rare feat. However, if he hasn’t done so, then this power-up could significantly change One Piece‘s final saga — especially if Fujitora sees the light and rebels against the corrupt Celestial Dragons.

One Piece is far removed from the days of the Alabasta Arc, but that doesn’t mean the arc’s antagonists — namely, Crocodile and the former members of Baroque Works — are absent from the narrative. In fact, with the advent of Crocodile, Dracule Mihawk, and Buggy the Clown’s new alliance, the Cross Guild, several familiar faces have returned to the fold, including the wielder of the Dice-Dice Fruit, Daz Bones.

The Dice-Dice Fruit grants Daz Bones the power to generate blades anywhere on his body, which is why the strong fighter was a natural opponent for Roronoa Zoro. Since this arc, the World Government has integrated the powers of the Dice-Dice Fruit into their Mihawk-inspired Seraphim, potentially setting up a battle between Mr. 1 and the powerful bioweapon. If Daz Bones hopes to survive a run-in with the Seraphim, then a major power-up such as a Devil Fruit Awakening is in order.

2.An Awakened Revive-Revive Fruit Would Give Brook A Much-Needed Power-Up

Brook

Before the final One Piece saga reaches its end, there are several powerful villains the Straw Hats must take down.

Generally, Devil Fruits don’t change the appearance of their user. However, in the case of the Revive-Revive Fruit, this isn’t necessarily true. This Paramecia-type Devil Fruit grants its user a second chance at life after they pass away — as seen in Brook’s tragic backstory — at the cost of potentially assuming a skeletal appearance akin to the Straw Hat Pirates’ musician.

In addition to reviving its user, the Revive-Revive Fruit grants its owner the ability to manipulate their soul, allowing for a few unique abilities that go beyond simple reincarnation. As One Piece‘s narrative grows more intense with each passing chapter, it would be a massive help to the Straw Hat Pirates if Brook could Awaken his Devil Fruit and reach the same level of strength as the New World’s strongest fighters.

Buggy the Clown

Following the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom in One Piece‘s Wano Country Arc, there are two open spots among the Emperors of the Sea. While it’s obvious that one of these positions will be filled by Monkey D. Luffy, fans were shocked to learn that the other character elevated to the position of Emperor of the Sea is none other than the loudmouthed, boisterous antagonist of the Orange Town Arc, Buggy the Clown.

Despite his ineptitude, Buggy the Clown has failed upwards throughout One Piece‘s entire narrative, making his coronation as an Emperor of the Sea a surprisingly appropriate development. However, the character isn’t much stronger than he was in the East Blue, which is why a Devil Fruit Awakening could significantly bolster his credibility. It’s hard to imagine what an Awakened version of the Chop-Chop Fruit would look like, but if it helps Buggy strengthen his followers, then the Cross Guild could make a legitimate attempt at claiming the One Piece for themselves. A showdown between all four Emperors of the Sea seems like an inevitability, so at the very least, an Awakened Chop-Chop Fruit might help Buggy the Clown escape the conflict with his life.
