Jose Mourinho has now commented on if he would one day like to manage Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager has often let his opinion known on the Argentine forward, with Mourinho clearly a massive fan of Messi.

With the Portuguese coach now out of work after being sacked by AS Roma earlier this year, Mourinho is currently in the market for a new job, with MLS a potential destination for the 61-year-old.

And speaking to Ohm, the three-time Premier League champion revealed that it is a dream of his to one day manage Messi, though the odds of this actually happening remain very slim.

Mourinho said when asked which player would he love to coach: “An example is Messi, he doesn’t need to be coached. Who can say ‘I was Messi’s coach’?

“It seems absurd to me because he knows everything and was born with everything. Maybe he can teach you things. It would only be to say that I had the honor of having him in the team. Then there are a lot of players.”

Mourinho is arguably one of the most famous coaches in all of sports, with the Portuguese manager winning virtually everything there is to win in the European game.

And whilst a move to MLS might seem like an unlikely possibility for Mourinho, the former Roma man taking over at Inter Miami and managing Messi would be a nightmare.

As we know, the Herons have a clear playing style they’re trying to implement under Tata Martino, one that is a far cry from what Mourinho sets his teams out for.

Whilst it could lead to silverware, it would result in Mourinho potentially ruining Inter Miami and disregarding Messi’s final years as a player, precious few seasons that can’t be spared.
