Neymar has hinted that he is open to joining Inter Miami when asked about reuniting with former teammate Lionel Messi.

The Brazilian international joined Al-Hilal last summer in one of the biggest transfers of the window, though Neymar’s season has been cut short by an ACL injury that could keep the winger out of action until the end of this year.

With Neymar enjoying his best football at FC Barcelona alongside Messi and Luis Suarez, whispers of a reunion at Inter Miami have been around ever since the Herons signed the duo.

And speaking to ESPN Argentina at the F1 Grand Prix in Bahrain, Neymar revealed that he is dreaming of reuniting with Messi on the pitch, strongly hinting that the attacker wants to join Inter Miami.

Tata Martino’s side have exploded in popularity since Messi’s move to the MLS franchise last year, with Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and the aforementioned Suarez all joining the club since.

And now, Neymar could be the next superstar player to make the move to Florida, a transfer that could again be seismic for MLS and Inter Miami.

Neymar said when asked about Messi: “Hopefully we can play together again. Leo is a great person, everyone knows him in football and I think he is very happy and if he is happy, I am too.”

Neymar’s reputation as one of the biggest names in sports means a move to MLS could be on the cards for the attacker, especially with the winger’s career at the very top potentially over due to this ACL injury.

Yet whilst Inter Miami would make the most sense for Neymar, the finances of such a deal could make it an unlikely one for the Herons despite how fun a reunion would be in Florida.

However, with Inter Miami shattering MLS transfer expectations by signing Messi and Suarez, another franchise could be optimistic enough to move for Neymar, a deal that could be healthier for the league than the Herons landing the Brazilian.
