One Piece Day 2024 has revealed its official date and location, set to take place just before the anime series’ special 25th-anniversary exhibition.

One Piece has announced that the official 2024 One Piece Day convention will be held on Aug. 10-11 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, to be followed shortly after by the special “One Piece Emotion” exhibition commemorating the 25-year anniversary of the anime series.

The announcement, seen below and posted by the official One Piece X (formerly Twitter) account, states, “ONE PIECE DAY ’24 is coming! On August 10th and 11th 2024 JST, the festival will be held at Makuhari Messe! More information about ONE PIECE DAY ’24 will be announced soon, stay tuned!” The post also includes a link to the official One Piece Day website, which currently only holds the dates and location of One Piece Day 2024 but states that announcements will be coming soon.

10 minutes after the first announcement, the official One Piece X account posted a follow-up announcing a new special event celebrating the 25-year anniversary of One Piece’s anime adaptation by Toei Animation. The event, called “One Piece Emotion,” will be held at Sankaku Hiroba – Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Tokyo from Aug. 12-Sept. 1 and will then tour around Japan, although the other locations have yet to be announced. Per One Piece‘s official website, the event description reads, “This event is a great dissection of the TV anime ‘ONE PIECE’ while looking back on ‘Wano Country Edition’ and ‘Egg Head Edition’! We will approach the charm of the TV anime ‘ONE PIECE’ from various angles such as pictures, sounds, and voices.”

One Piece Day 2024 Marks the First Time the Event Has Changed Dates

This will be the first time that One Piece Day is not held on July 22, an official Japanese holiday, and the anniversary of its inception as a manga on July 22, 1997. The reason for moving the convention’s standard date has not been made explicit but is likely due to the correlating “One Piece Emotion” exhibition to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary.

One Piece Day 2023 Featured Screenings, Special Guests and the Netflix Live-Action Trailer Reveal

One Piece Day 2023, held over two days at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan, featured a screening of the film One Piece Red, special appearances and Q&As with voice actors including Mayumi Tanaka (Monkey D. Luffy), Kazuya Nakai (Roronoa Zoro), Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp) and Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji) among others, and the reveal of the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece trailer. Tickets were available via lottery system and announced online. The event was also live-streamed on YouTube with English subtitles.

One Piece Day 2024 tickets are not yet available, but interested fans can check the official One Piece X account or website for the latest information. A live stream of the event has not yet been announced.
