Doncic is on a roll this season, being the real MVP of the West.
Luka Doncic and the Mavericks are hanging on the 8th seed in the West as they cruise with a 3-game win streak. Following their win against the Bulls, the Mavs are one game behind the 6th seed.
The Mavs, Kings, Lakers, and Warriors are tied for the play-in tournament in the current standings. Dallas, on the other hand, has a great chance to make it out of the play-in or might as well clinch a playoff berth.
Stephen A. Smith picked Luka and Company to be a tough competitor in the postseason compared to other teams. The Warriors are struggling to cope without Stephen Curry. At the same time, the Lakers are playing quite decently. Doncic has done a fabulous job leading the Mavs, being the primary scorer and the core of its offense.
When I see how unstoppable he is, how no one seems to have an answer for him. It's not just his shot making ability, his intellect on the offesnive side of the board, but his ability to control pace and tempo and how that surged... He's one of those guys Shannon, where I'm looking at others and I'm saying 'Your greatness is going to be required to knock off his greatness.Said Stephen A
Luka has been putting up jaw-dropping numbers, leading the league in scoring, averaging 34.6 points, 9.9 assists, and 9.1 rebounds per game. Doncic is truly a special talent and one of the most unique players ever to step foot on the NBA hardwood.
Luka Doncic and the Mavs look unstoppable ahead of the playoffs
While Doncic has been doing his job, Kyrie Irving is not contributing anything less. Uncle Drew has been playing extremely consistently, though his performance is overshadowed by Luka Magic.
Guys like PJ Washington and Tim Hardaway are great assets to the team as well. While the Mavs have exhausted their offense around Doncic, their performance in the postseason would be interesting to see.
Luka has shown his potential to lead the team in the postseason. His run during the 2022 playoffs was also quite memorable. At 22, Doncic put up the best numbers during the playoffs.
Not only that, he led the Mavericks to the Conference Finals, though couldn’t withstand Curry’s Warriors. With all things considered, it won’t be so feasible to put the Lakers and the Dubs behind the Mavs.
LeBron James, who leads the Lakers, has a better squad, covering all attributes among players. Curry and the Dubs are looking to find their rhythm as they near the end of the regular season. It will be interesting to see either team face the Mavericks in the postseason. What are your thoughts on Luka and the Mavs? Let us know in the comments below.
