Stephen Curry may be turning 36 years old, but clearly he feels different on the inside. The four-time NBA champ had to confront his age when his wife Ayesha quizzed him about how he felt on his birthday. His response, which went viral after she shared it on her Instagram story, was befitting of someone ready to life that old man life.

“It’s your birthday!” Ayesha sang to the Golden State Warriors star while recording his reaction. “How’s it feel to be 36?”

Curry squinted, hunched over and started shaking like an old man. “I’m just trying to eat my tomatoes,” he said in an old country accent, barely able to hold in a deep laugh.

Ayesha, mother of three children with Steph and expecting a fourth, was befuddled by his response. Although it was merely him trolling his wife, perhaps there was some truth to his interest in being left alone to live the old man life.

Curry has a deep passion for golf, known as an old man’s game. He is currently nursing an ankle injury, another indication his body isn’t far from retirement age. He’s got enough awards and enough in his bank account to cover several lifetimes.

The 36-year-old is still playing at a very high level, averaging just short of 27 points and 5 assists per game, while shooting over 40% from three. But whenever he does retire, he’s already got a lot of the boxes checked, he just needs to know where he can eat his tomatoes in peace.
