Racist UNC Yearbook Photo Expose What Michael Jordan & James Worthy Dealt With While in College (PIC)

To the younger generation, the height of racism might seem like it happened way back in the early 1900’s, but this isn’t entirely true as we get reminded every single day that horrible people continue to wake up and show their true colors.

Let’s forget about the early 1900’s and talk about the year 1979. At that time, a well known future hall of famer was getting set to make a name for himself at Chapel Hill as James Worthy was a freshman on campus.

Despite being celebrated as a huge contributor on the team, Worthy still had to deal with racists on campus. Two years later, an even bigger name in Michael Jordan would show up to Chapel Hill and he also likely dealt with the exact same thing.

Check out this photo from the yearbook in 1979:

As you can see, there are three white men in this photo, two of which are wearing Ku Klux Klan attire while the 3rd man is dressed in Black-face while wearing a noose around his neck. You can only wonder if those three guys are some type of position of power today if they are still alive.

Jordan’s impact would be felt immediately when he showed up as he infamously hit the game-winning jumper as a freshman in the 1982 National Championship game. His legendary status only got bigger from there.
