Taylor Swift’s spokesperson has responded to reports of an altercation involving the pop star’s father, Scott Swift, and an Australian photographer.

“Two individuals aggressively approached Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel and threatening to harm a female staff member,” the rep told PEOPLE in a statement.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday morning local time, with Australia’s Sky News reporting that Scott, 71, was accused of assaulting a photographer on Sydney’s North Shore shortly after Taylor’s performance.

While police could not confirm the identities of those involved, they stated that they were investigating an alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf around 2:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Scott has been a visible presence at Taylor’s tour since its inception, often seen interacting with fans and celebrities alike. Swift wrapped up her latest show in Sydney on Monday night, expressing gratitude to her fans for their support.

Following the Australian leg of her tour, Swift is scheduled to perform in Singapore on March 2, marking the continuation of her successful tour journey.
